Humans from another world have been appearing in Ponyville. Calling themselves the Displaced, they each had taken on the form and abilities of a fictional character when they arrived. At first, this development greatly excited Twilight Sparkle. Now, two years later, she's at her wit's end. There were just so many of them she needed to deal with popping up almost every week. Then, she had an epiphany. Why not cut them off at the source? And so unfolds her master plan, known as Operation: Replace. But can five Displaced - and one pony - really take down the Merchant?

But can five Displaced - and one pony - really take down the Merchant?

Twilight sighed. "Not every villain can be reformed, Starlight. You were, but not Sombra, or Tirek, or Chrysalis. We can't afford to be optimistic this time.

*Cough!*Thecomics.*Cough!*

A unique story about the Displaced universe... now I'm gonna follow it and see were it goes.

The only Displaced story that I'll ever give a thumbs up

So, Who wants to take bets on how fast this will go to Hell?

I, myself, will put my bet on first contact.

Do you know of any other story that has the Merchant as the primary antagonist?

7838736 The Merchant is neither a Protagonist, or Antagonist. He's the one that - technically speaking - creates them. More or less. "You are what you paid for." Is how he works, it's that simple.

7838443 *Cough!* The comics are not canon.*Cough!*

I’m quite curious just how this is going to go south and where exactly is this going. :)

Someone really needs to tell Hazel that counterspells are a thing. Or just hit the Merchant while he's talking.

In any case, very thrilling stuff here. I can't help but suspect Starlight will be the X factor here. After all, she didn't buy anything.

Glad you're enjoying the story! As for Hazel, it's in the name: countermagic only works on magic, not ESP or radiation-induced superpowers.

Yes, and what's granting those abilities? :trixieshiftright:

(Seriously, though, reasonable explanation.)

Stealing even the stand.

7838785 Well yes, but I've seen him as an antagonist before.(though I don't recall the story's name) And he's definitely an antagonist here, right?(I haven't read the story yet)

Starlight learned ZA WARUDO.

Oh, that is very clever, especially since it further narrows what tactics the Merchant can employ. Very god job in making him formidable, but not insurmountable. Eagerly looking forward to more.

I forgot that Starlight has The World.

Very nice stuff indeed. Great action all throughout with a clever conclusion, a satisfying denouement, and a hilarious epilogue.

Next was Hazel. "Can you let me stay in your castle? Please? Derpy Hooves is a nice mare, but... not the best roommate."

Heh. Of course the MtG character was staying with her. :derpytongue2:

Thank you for this, and for noting its existence so I could enjoy it.

No problem, my good man.

A fun and surprisingly epic story; not to mention (what I at least think is) an innovative take on the Displaced stories.:moustache:

That's pretty much exactly what I was going for. Glad you liked it!

7838785 and the fact his the most powerful void dweller in the multiverse

Fucking. Awesome. There aren't any other words to describe that. That was pure, unadulterated, Awesome.
