Thanks! I was in college when the first Pony series aired back in the mid-1980s, and the way they had children without ever showing any males caused me to form elaborate theories about them reproducing by fission or budding like plants to produce little clones of themselves. So I've been overthinking Pony biology since before many folks reading this were even born...
Well, I don't want to spoil anything, but I'm writing this as part of Kits' shipping contest, and he states just after the 7 official rules, "I tend to like happy ponies." So...
963594 Oh, unless there's angst on the way, the happy ending is never that sweet, by reason of contrast. It's an observation, not a complaint. It's just that Applejack's "Oh, my brother has crushed all her dreams and completely shattered her sense of self-worth! Yay, now I have a chance for NOOKIE!" is obviously not gonna lead to happy bunnykittenland straight away.
Too biological about it, but for the purposes of this story, I gave Fluttershy the Pony equivalent of partial androgen insensitivity syndrome. What degree of it she has is another question and one I'm not gonna get into. All we know is what Applejack knows, and all Applejack knows is what she saw in two brief glimpses in chapters 3 and 4. So anything's possible!
Well I believe you hinted in one of the other chapters that Fluttershy had both sexes when you wrote about that she sometimes had to use BOTH spells to keep her sex hidden, but maybe that was just a mistake from your side or I misunderstood it, also I can't remember precisely what you wrote, will be waiting for the next.
she sometimes had to use BOTH spells to keep her sex hidden
Exactly. She's half-n-half, but the exact physical distribution of "mare parts" to "stallion parts" internally and externally is something I'd need a second story to get into. And while I'm not planning on writing a second story, I wasn't planning on writing this one, either.
Is Fluttershy actually a futa? Is she extremely effeminate with a penis or does she have both a penis and a vagina? If it's the former, I can understand why Mac ran.
I never actually get around to explaining Fluttershy's condition, but in the sequel, History: A Romance Continued, I have Twilight talk some about Partial Stallionogen Insensitivity Syndrome, the cartoon pony version of a human medical condition known as Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome. In fancy talk, Fluttershy is somatically female but genetically male: her body developed exactly as a normal mare's would except for the twist in her chromosomes that gives her a stallion's genitalia. Whether this makes her an actual "futanari," well, I hafta admit I'd never really heard the term till folks started commenting on this story...
Big wussy. I think you are one of the few writers who nailed AJ's speech patterns without it being obvious. Meaning you got it right and didn't just call everypony 'sugarcube'.
One more chapter!
I might get this finished by the deadline after all!

Loving this story!!!
Despite Applejack's joy, I can't help but feeling we're in for a shitstorm of pain and sorrow.

Thanks again! It's been an interesting experiment.

I can't wait for the next chapter! Fluttershy is so blind! Poor girl.
963603
Absolutely. Bunnykittenland is still a couple thousand words away, and a majority of those words, like you say, will be pretty darn angsty.
Mike
So she doesn't have any mare parts at all? That's kind of disappointing.
I knew this was going to happen. Ugh.

I don't wanna get:

968466 Ohhhh! You almost lost me there but I think I'll stick around for this.
Cheers.
I have the strange sensation to buck Mac right in the mouth.

Poor Mac:
I mean, yes, he reacted badly, but, well, he did get kind of a shock there...
Mike
So Mac did run. Which leads to my question:
Is Fluttershy actually a futa? Is she extremely effeminate with a penis or does she have both a penis and a vagina? If it's the former, I can understand why Mac ran.
