Spike Drago is just a simple kid. He learned dueling from his babysitter and her friends. After they went off to boarding school, Spike makes it his goal to do the same. When he does, he meets friend old and new in the form of two fellow students, Micro Chip and Sugar Rush. The three of them duel their way in, only to find that an ancient prophecy is coming about, and they have to work with their friends to stop it.
I do not own MLP or Yugioh (if I did I would have too many stories to write for them to write fanfics). I only own Micro Chip and Sugar Rush.
Based in the style of your typical ecchi harem manga that still has a compelling story and the ecchi stuff is just for laughs

Thanks for responding, and glad I could help. As a side request, it would be interesting backstory if Blueblood had beaten Rarity with his deck once before (Monarchs are tough once you line up the right combos) and her intro duel is a rematch. Just a thought.

Some thoughts occured to me while re-reading this chapter. Primarily, why did Micro not use Dragon Buster's Ability? If my count is right, he still had a card in his hand. Discarding it would have banished either Dark Magician Girl, or the face down Half or Nothing. Either move would have made for a successful attack, and nulled Magical Burning from being used.
If there was a reason for this, other than the "can't win 'em all" lesson, I'd appreciate your reasoning.

Went back and double checked. Micro was out of cards, so no ABC banish effect. Would still like to know why this ended with 0 damage for Twilight.
Re-read this chapter just now, and I had an idea for a filler chapter for Spike. I was picturing a Duelist with a massive grudge against Dragon Type monsters, not exactly sure which pony would fit the bill. He/she would use a Dragunity deck due to the symbolism, Winged-Beasts "taming" and "controlling" dragons, using them as tools and tossing them aside when they finished with them. The character could either learn a lesson from Spike, or not, and Spike would get a look at the unintentional harm Dueling can have when it's a way of life, not just a game.

As for why Twilight took no damage, I wanted to demonstrate that even if they are good duelists, Micro, Sugar, and Spike still have a ways to go and can't win every fight.
Great chapter buddy. I was never able to appreciate how tricky toon decks could be with the new expansions. Seeing two different Toon decks going at it was awesome. Now, on an unrelated matter, I've noticed that the like function on this story is greyed out, I've been unable to mark the story or chapters as liked. Is it a glitch, or was this done on purpose?
Regardless, I look forward to the next chapter, and will keep dreaming up deck/duel ideas. Oh, and I have a thought on who to use for the Dragunity concept, Lightning Dust. It's a bit of a stretch, but if she got badly beaten by a Dragon user with whatever her deck used to be, her pride could lead to both the need to control dragons, and the grudge against duelists who use Dragon decks.

I was preparing one and scrapped it when I though of a better one and then my classes started up. I am sorry but obviously they come first. Celestia vs Luna? AWESOME!!! Luna using a Fabled deck, seems fitting. They can be tricky cards to use, but are freakin scary with the proper support. My only question, and one you don't have to answer, is what will Celestia be using as her deck? Constellar, Tellarknight, Lightsworn, Agents, Star Seraph, the possibilities are endless.

Ok. Here's another update. I'm sorry for the delay but with classes and work taking up a lot of time I'm having trouble writing. This story is not abandoned though. I will write when able. I do want to ask a question though and hopefully people will respond. In cases where I get major delays like this should I just post chapters in large chunks when I get to a good stopping point and then when I finish remove the partial chapters and post the big one, or wait until I finish the chapter then post it?
I Hope you continue this series because things are really starting to get really good and I don't want to have give up hope on this series.

Nice chapter but you should know one thing...
That’s an illegal move. You can’t activate a card if you can’t resolve the entire thing. Since both players didn’t have two cards to discard, it can’t be activated. Even if (in this story) they might be going by the TCG rules, it still wouldn’t work because Micro doesn’t have any cards to discard.
This is basically the “Triangle Ecstasy Spark” argument all over again.
Not to be rude, but I'm starting to see a trend in some of these chapters.
That trend being illegal card plays.
This is also another illegal move. A monster being flipped face-up in battle is not Flip Summoned. It's just a flip. A Flip Summon is when you manually flip a monster face-up. If that monster's effect only activates when it's Flip Summoned then it shouldn't have been able to activate.

Ok. Thanks for the notification. I honestly didn't know that. To be honest, I'm not a super competitive player and so I didn't realize that or the hand destruction fact until after I posted the chapter. I will probably fix this later, maybe having a character comment that the rules were updated or something to make it work in universe. Thank you for letting me know. Any other misplays or anything like that I screwed up? Just know I am kinda doing what the show does where the rules and effects slightly differ. I will change the above things though. I was wondering why the Prediction Princess archetype seemed over powered as all heck.

Umm, Actually I just checked the yugioh wiki. The prediction princesses are flip effect monsters. I probably just worded it badly. The effect does go off, it just isn't because it was flipped summoned. It was because it was flipped in general. Sorry for the confusion

I know you've probably looked it up by now, but mill and milling are terms used to describe when a card is sent from yhe top of the deck to the graveyard.
This was an ok chapter but I don’t understand why Discord would use “Chaos Anklets” to force the duel to continue.
If he had let Applejack forfeit the duel then Flim and Flam would have won. Allowing the brothers to not only gain control over everything that they wanted, but also allowing Discord to get a free pass off the island. After all, forfeiting a duel is no different than losing a duel. A loss is a loss after all.

I definitely understand that but I view it like this. Discord, despite his wish to leave the island, has always been a showman. He doesn't like to break his own rules and always wants it to be "fun", so I feel he would want the duel to go on no matter what. Plus, as I was writing this, I viewed it more like this. A duel where circumstances are unsafe is different than a duel where one person just decides to back out. Not to mention...what makes more sense. Discord wanting the duel to continue because it's more entertaining, or him taking the boring option, letting the two sister's forfeit, and going about his business. To me, Discords character seems more likely to do the former. Especially if we look at his first appearance in the show. He wanted to play a game with them, to try and get them downtrodden and defeated in every way. If he wanted to, he could've just drained them all like with Fluttershy (which he only did in a fit of childish rage). He was willing to bet his world of chaos on the fact they couldn't beat his game. It's like that here. He wants to beat his opponents his way, and his way alone.

Thanks for understanding. For me it was also the simple fact that the stress I was dealing with (terrible teacher and work issues) caused me to not want to really do anything that required thinking really. From puzzles to writing. Thankfully I have a nice break and next semester should be a bit better. Thank you for showing the concern though as that is just one more boost to my urge to write again.
