Chapter 1: Friend?

It was a warm sunny day in Canterlot.

A certain draconequus was staring at a beautiful pair of purple eyes.
"Celestia,” the draconequus started, “ Will you be my friend even if I..”
“Discord” A bright filly cut him off. “ I’ll always be your friend.”
"Promise?" The young Draconnequus asked.
"Promise." The alicorn replied, smiling happily.
The two sat on the soft grass admiring the beautiful sunlight that shined on them.
The two obviously had feelings for each other.
In fact, Discord, the draconequus, was going to tell the princess about his feelings that very day.

But, when he finally tried to get the words out of his mouth, he failed.
"T-Tia? "Discord nervously called.
"Yeah?" The pony replied, smiling.
"I think you..you..." Discord mumbled.
"I...?" Discord thought that Celestia looked a little impatient when she asked that question
but he quickly shook the thought away, as he needed to think of a way to say the right thing to the beautiful pony
without making it too awkward.
"Umm... You... Are getting really good at raising the sun!" The draconequus shouted, blushing.
"Thanks, Discord..." Celestia replied, looking a little... disappointed..?

It was a little more awkward for the two, both of them keeping quiet and blushing,
but they were still very happy to be next to each other, even if they didn't say anything.
The young children felt comfort just by each others' presence.

However, Discord still wanted to prove to Celestia's parents that he was worth the beautiful mare,
though he himself wasn't sure if he was.
"No Discord, you can treat her well. You can be worth it!"
He yelled to himself in his mind, trying to boost his confidence.
But still, half of his mind was yelling at him how beautiful and perfect his crush was and
how he was basically the opposite of her.

Discord decided to take the leap before his mind could tell him otherwise.

"Hey Celestia, do you think we could play in your place tomorrow?"
Discord asked the mare and mentally punched himself.
To his surprise, Celestia seemed pretty happy to say yes.
"Of course! It's been forever since you came over. My room changed so much, you won't believe it!"
Celestia exclaimed.
"S-sounds perfect! Well uh, since it's getting a bit late, I'd better get home! Uh- See you tomorrow?"
Discord asked blushing like he was going crazy, which his heart definitely was.
"Yes, see you tomorrow!"
Celestia smiled.
Discord smiled awkwardly, still blushing.
He then waved at his crush and started flying away after taking one last glance at the beautiful mare.

After he flew away, Celestia giggled and said to herself.
"Lok at him rushing off, I hope he's excited too."

However, Discord didn't seem as relaxed as Celestia was.
He was feeling chaotic.
Very chaotic.
"What if her parents are still mad at me for eating their book? What if they don't like me?"
Discord sighed.
"What if... I'm not good enough for her?.."
He asked himself, falling into deep thoughts.

He thought of Celestia's bright, flawless smile.
He thought of how she always manages to make him smile.
How smart and intelligent she is.
How she could be so kind, even to creatures she never met before.
How she could make ponies fall for her so easily.
How easily she could make him fall for here so easily.
How easily she could make butterflies fly on every inch of his stomach.
How easily she could make his face as red as the very sun she raises by just a simple smile.
How she could just...
Make him fall for her over and over again.
And how much he fell for her,
for how long he had feelings for her.

Discord still had to confess to Celestia about his feelings towards her, but he didn't want to make their relationship as friends just disappear either...
Discord was happy that someone, in fact, a very beautiful someone,
was going to be his friend, hopefully for a long time, maybe even for forever.

He didn't know what he could do to make their friendship last for long though.
Or if there was anything he could do for a long friendship,
How could he do it?
And would he even have enough courage to do it?
He wouldn't know.
He'd just have to wait for time to pass.
For the days to go by.
For his courage to grow.
And maybe for her feelings towards him to grow more...

For now,
He should just think about the "tasks" he would have to face the following day
And how he would pass those tasks if he ever could.

Discord sighed, thinking of what he would be going through the following day.
He could get himself out of the situation, saying he was sick or had other plans, but when he imagined
the sad face Celestia might have if he told her that he couldn't make it?
He would feel as sad as a draconnequus ever could.
And of course, he would feel guilty for lying to his favorite pony in Equestria.

Discord sighed.
How could he ever resist spending a day with Celestia?
He would have to go and he would have to be prepared for the little "playdate" at her home that he himself planned.
"Discord... You don't know what kind of trouble you got yourself into today..."
He sighed and said to himself as he slowly fell asleep, dreaming of having a hopefully happy play date
with the light of his heart,
Princess Celestia...

Maybe, just maybe, that princess could be feeling a little bit of the feelings he was feeling?

She was feeling a little bit more than just a little bit of the feelings.
She was excited and worried.
"Was it a good decision to allow him to come?"
"What if my dad pressures Discord?"
She thought to herself.
She wanted to be perfect in front of him.
She wanted to make sure he was comfortable.
She wanted him to be himself in front of her.
He is a friend.
He is a close friend.
He is an important friend.
He...
Might as well be her first crush?

"Can't be!"
Celestia exclaimed, blushing.
She sighed and slid into her blanket.

"Well...Maybe... Just maybe though."
She nervously thought and pushed the thought away.
She closed her eyes.
She felt like she could see Discord.
Her eyes flew open.
"I guess I really do..."
She felt embarrassed yet relieved that she admitted it to herself.

Who knows, maybe he'd like her back and they could be.. together.
She smiled as she fell asleep feeling happy and relaxed.

Author's Note:
