This story is a sequel to What Lies Within
Ever wondered how Sunset Shimmer met her true love? In this spinoff of the “Royal Canterlot Family” series, the royals take a camping trip to Splendor Woods. Sunset becomes taken with a camp guide named Timber Spruce, but soon finds that something strange is going on. What secrets lurk in the mysterious forest?
YAY!!!! Finally!!!! New story!!! looking foward to it!!!
Keep writing!!!
Hmm, is that Shrek reference going to be important later on? It seems a little too well-integrated not to be.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but you actually made Timber pretty likeable. In the movie, at least to me, he was nothing but a total flirt. Here, I feel like he actually has more substance and integrity.
Will Flash Sentry appear in this story? You respond to comments by moving your mouse over to the right hand side of the comment that you want to respond to and then clicking on the >> that appears.
7678821 Read the story. He's in there.
That scene where Quibble sings "It's Over, Isn't It?" suddenly gets sadder when you realize that his voice actor's wife died this April (as in before the hiatus, so "Stranger than Fanfiction" hadn't even aired yet).

7691450 I know. I pity Patton Oswalt for the passing of his wife.
If he ever sang this song, he'd have a lot of experience.
So are the rest of the girls going to be manifesting weird abilities or just Sunset?
Okay. What does Gloriosa know that nopony else does?
Okay. I'm seeing Shrek and Beauty and the Beast in this story.
Timber is the two leggs isnt he? I can just tell. And... PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!!!!!!! Love it!
One, I found the reference.
Two, this has genderbent Shrek written all over it.
Three, the boys' illicit monster hunt is going to horribly backfire and cause one hay of a big boom.
Four, what was Plan D?

You're right about the big boom thing.
Let's just keep that ambiguous, shall we?
Good Chapter!
The backstory itself was pretty good, especially with the hat and crown being mementos from their parents.
Though, I do have one question: How exactly did Timber's mother end up in the human world in the first place?
7812701 The chapter said something about a crystal mirror.
WHAT?!
How are they going to explain that to their kids?
An epic battle for the fate of our heroes and Sunset's blossoming romance is coming up for sure!
I see Tarzan and the first set of the IDW comics.
The hollow tree reminds me of the 2016 'Jungle Book' movie
"cue the romantic explosions"

(Where's a party cannon emoji when you need one?)
THAT WAS... AWESOME!!!!! I love your and your sister's stories!!! And I always imagined Discord singing like "Donkey" of Shrek, especially that song!!! Maybe he can sing "Livin' la vida loca" from Shrek 2!!!! (one day!)
Anyway, love the story!
See ya in Bonds of Family!!!
What's with Quibble and singing in this story?
Why, hello there, Sleeping Beauty reference!
I'm guessing that you would have given away too much of the plot if you had put "Based off of Shrek" in the description.
I get that Timber has been living in the woods for all his life, but how does he not know the queen's name?
This is pretty much a reversal of what happened in Legend of Everfree.
Wait a minute.
Clever girl.
The chemistry between Sunset and Timber feels so real. Why can't the show staff write romances this well?
This explains so much.
Right for the wrong reasons.

What about Bright Mac and Buttercup's? That just might be the only developed romance in the series with maybe Fluttercord coming at a close second (If they become a couple that is)

Sorry. I'm still a little salty about my OTP getting torpedoed and getting replaced by something that I personally find painfully shallow.
Yeah, as if we needed more proof that Cheese and Pinkie are perfect for each other.
(total sarcasm mode) Gee, great suggestion Pinkie.
So, we've got a feminine guy, masculine girl dynamic going on with Daring and Quibble, huh? It totally fits them.
Now that I think about it, Sunset kind of gave up a little too quickly near the end. Oh well.
What made you decide that adding the Tarzan scene was a good idea? It totally was.
This line becomes harsher in hindsight after reading The Crown of Winter.
The song choices totally fit this couple and their romance in this story. They're fun and flirty yet sweet and innocent.
Sssssssmokin!
