This story is a sequel to Guitar Hero: Equestria Girls.

After winning Countess Coloratura's Guitar Hero tournament in Manehattan, the Rainbooms come back home while being greeted by even more fans. When they've finally decided to compete in Sapphire Shores' worldwide tournament, something terrible goes wrong upon arriving at their first gig.

It's up to Sunset Shimmer, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie once again to musically battle their way up to the top and keep the tournament alive and safe. This time, they're going to be playing a lot more than before...
