An Unexpected Surprise

"Mel..Mel wake up.." Some pony shakes me with their hoof and I slowly open my eyes and yawn.

"Hmm.." I slowly turn over and my eyes start to focus on my fillyhood friend Mocha, she smells strongly of the fresh cut coffee beans that are grounded all morning. "What's wrong now..?"

"There's a surprise for you down stairs if you care to wake." She huffs and swivels her head so her mane's bangs move back to its side. She walks out and closes my room door with a slight slam. I lightly shake my head and roll out of bed. I stretch my wings, my velvet feather like wing parts spread as if I was to take flight. I walk to my mirror, large parts of my mane part out in an uncomfortable manor, my eyes slightly glassed over from the morning rays of gold.
I tame my mane with my hooves and rub my eyes, "Wonder what it could be.." I make my way to the door and slowly trot down the creaking steps of the cottage I now call home. As I walk to the main floor I get tackled by an very excited colt,

"RED!!" The brownish colt with an chocolate mane smiles down excitedly at me with his dark blue eyes,

"D-Doctor?"

"Yes, it's me! I'm back from my many adventures through time, and you'll never believe what I got for you!!" He gets off of me and helps me up, his British accent becomes slightly ruff with his giddiness as he turns around and starts going through his black clothed satchel. "Aha!" He pulls out a little black cap and I smile so widely.

"You found one!"

"But watch this!" He pulls out an off white bunny with pure black eyes and it jumps to me and lays under my long mane.

"A..a bunny..?"

"Yes, he even has his own cap." The bunny pulls out the cap and puts it on his tiny head, making his ears droop down so it fits.

"Does he have a name?"

"No, I left it for you to decide." I look at the bunny and go into a long thought process, I suddenly look up,

"I got it! Jack." Doctor smiles and I get a good whiff of the freshly made delights Mocha makes for a living. "Would you like a coffee?" He nods and we make our way too an empty table, Mocha smirks and levitates two muffins and two coffees. "Thank you Mocha.."

"You're welcome Melody." I move my bangs out of my face and take a small bite out of my muffin. Jack jumps up to the table and breaks off a piece of my muffin and slowly nibbles in the chocolate muffin part. The Doctor takes a sip of his coffee and sigh happily,

"So what have you been up to? What's happened to every pony?" I sigh reluctantly and come to my senses,

"Well..I've been fine..I suppose.. Vinyl and Octavia are still rocking the beats, just like their meant to. My ma was called to be an advisor for some high rank at the castle next to the princesses-" The Doctor's eyes widen in a surprising way,

"Great wickering stallions! She's working with Princess Twilight then!" I look at him oddly and slowly nod my head,

"Well yeahhhhh, she's their advisor." He looks as if he could sequel but he conceals it and looks at me with excitement for more information, "Hmm....oh, Galaxy and that filly he met at my sister's concert, Crystal. They're married now, have a little one and everything."

"Galaxy...?" The Doctor smirks and mumbles, "The damn stallion.."

"What did you say?"

"Oh nothing Red, continue please~" He puts on a fake nervous smile and I stutter to continue.

"Uh-huh..continuing..um, Vanilla and Valerium got married but it didn't last.." I hesitate to continue but Mocha wasn't paying any attention so I slowly continued, "No soon after me and Icy ended a relationship we had between us-"

"WAIT YOU AND ICY WERE A THING? WAS THERE MARRIAGE INVOLVED?!" He acts a bit pissed off to say the least,

"Yes, and almost.." I look down at my cup and take another sip, The Doctor calms himself down and lowers his tone,

"Who ended it..?"

"I'd rather not say.." The Doctor nods as an understanding, "Like I was saying...Mocha and Icy got into a relationship soon after, the way their going, I'm surprised they wouldn't end up married and happy forever." I smile at the thought and finally look up at the Doctor who seems a bit sad to hear my tone of voice, I start to giggle, "Don't be so concerned, it doesn't matter at this point, I basically gave Mocha my 'blessing' so whatever."
He slightly hesitates to nod his head, "Oh, remember Fallout? He's engaged to Pinkie Pie." The Doctor becomes dumbfounded,

"Seriously?!"

"Seriously." The Doctor starts to laugh,

"I never saw that coming, he always never seemed her type."

"Well love can do crazy things you know, make you either do really dumb thing are really amazing things." I smile in a warm manor and he smiles back,

"Would you like to take a walk with me?" I pause and then laugh nervously,

"Heh, sure let's just finish are breakfast, Mocha worked hard on this you know."

"O-Oh yeah, almost forgot about this wonderful quaint meal." He starts to eat and as I look down to get my muffin, all that remains is the paper wrapping. My eyes widen and I look over at Jack who was laying on his back with a full belly. I snicker and drink the rest of my coffee.

"Ready to go Red?" The Doctor says this somewhat impatiently,

"Yeah! Just hold on!" I scramble to put Jack in my room in the bed and put on the black cap the Doctor gifted me. I kiss Jack's head and gallop down the steps and out the door. "I'm here!" He starts to laugh,

"Yes you are." We both smile and we walk down an nicely kept up path by a lake. As we trot along we laugh and just talk and talk about his many adventures. He made me yearn for such a dangerous but intelligent adventure.
"And then, my tardis started to take flight without me. I don't think I've ever ran that fast in my life. Not to mention when I got in there, your bunny was trying to control the tardis. So with that, I decided to come home and see my favorite somepony." Snickering I huff and say,

"Derpy right?" The Doctor stops and starts laughing,

"No, its you Red. Derpy is special but not my special somepony." I pause and look at him with a light blush painter on my cheeks,

"W-What? Why me?" He approaches me slowly and lightly smiles,

"Because we're school buds, and you mean something more to me than Derpy does.." My blush becomes deeper to almost the shade of my body and the Doctor slowly leans in and kisses me. I couldn't decide if I should pull away or stay but by the time I made a decision he was done and slowly pulled away. To my surprise he was blushing like crazy too,

"Heh.." I look down at my hooves and play with the dirt path nervously. Suddenly, a hoof lifts my head and I'm met with a warm hug.
