On their six month anniversary, Twilight and Celestia were enjoying themselves when a power surge drew their attention to the Tree of Harmony. To their shock and horror, the second they arrived the tree began to glow so brightly they were forced to turn away. When they were able to see once more, there were two fillies asleep under the tree; both had wings and a horn. Not sure what else to do, Celestia lifted the fillies onto her back. Once she climbed the stairs, followed by Twilight, she was very glad they were on her back and not within the grasp of her magic. The Palace of the Royal Pony Sisters was gone and the Everfree Forest was bright, filled with the sounds of birds' singing.
Twilight and Celestia stared at each other in shock. It was apparent that they weren't in Equestria anymore.

Two things that make me lose interest in this. One: Celestia did not make Twilight an alicorn Twilight did that herself. at best Celestia just made it possible.

Eg:
Old: "You are Celestia."
Young: "Why am I Celestia?"
Old: "Because I am Celestia."
Young: "Why are you Celestia?"
Old: "Because you are Celestia."
It would be for the best if the adults use fake names or just claim to have amneseia and pretend to not recall anything before arriving in the past.
well all the negatives aside. think of the positive.... Twilight and Celestia can now enjoy something they would never have gotten in the future besides prime real estate. :P mostly peaceful time to enjoy their time together and with foals.
OH! and i am of the thought that if it happened it always happened. Twilight and Celestia always got sucked into the past to take care of these children because its already happened. what i mean by this is that since they are in the past they already changed the future assuming their future did not already have this happen.
Why Celestia does not remember it? well that is easy it was a very very long time ago after all.

That is to say, there is no extant actual 'past' or 'future', everything is 'present'. But in quantum-linear there are other universes that are identical to what your own was in the past, and your own is identical to others' past. In other words, time travel is just jumping ship to boats up- or down-stream from your own.
And in a few thousand years, I suspect that this Celestia will travel back with her own Twilight to perpetuate the loop ad infinitum! Since Celestia apparently doesn't remember anything about her mother, it shouldn't matter even if they use their own names.
...Otherwise it'd be an iterated temporal cascade rather than a stable time loop. In that case, hopefully, this Celestia doesn't get killed by Cell or the Androids. Or grow up to be a putz.
