This story is a sequel to Love Keeps Dragon On: The Return of Sapphire
Spike and Sapphire have successfully rescued the ponies of Buckington from the Shadow Dragon empire, and things seem peaceful. However, a vengeful Zog launches a counterattack on the village, and an even more fearsome foe makes his presence known. Equestria will face a challenge like never before, a couple of new friends will lend their strength against the Shadow Dragons, and Spike and Sapphire's love for each other will be put to the ultimate test in this final entry of the Sapphire Trilogy.

Well, hopefully things will get better for our heroes after things get dark enough. Because sooner or later a ray of bright light will pierce and vanquish the darkness.
It was a lot easier for me to find motivation to write back when I was getting all that positive response to the first story, now that I'm on #3 it's going largely ignored. I'm starting to wonder if the first one wasn't just a one hit wonder.

More than likely, it might never be finished. I apologize sincerely, but the inspiration and impact this series once had isn't there anymore. Right now I'm in the process of creating a better planned story with a more defined OC to counter the "cookie cutter story" complaints I've received of the last two stories in this series.

Honesty, I think I just took the Sapphire series in the wrong direction. I should have kept them as the cute, bubbly romance that the first was instead of making the sequels cookie-cutter adventure stories...
