The birth of a new life is a miracle of nature. Every mare and her family have their own harrowing tales of a birth in their family... Almost everypony gets their word in regarding their feelings regarding the events following such an event; everypony except for the foal. When Apple Bloom gives birth to a lively baby filly, she's delighted to have a foal to call her own. Alongside a proud father and her siblings, she couldn't be more happy. This isn't the pony-tale of a happy mother, though. Instead this is a blind, innocent newfoal's tale to tell.

814979 Thanks. I wrote it as a challenge for myself, really, and I just couldn't help but want to share. I needed to know that I could write something of quality without ever using a character's sense of sight. I also wanted to make something adorable, for whatever reason.

Also, why did you name her Maria Ann Smith? I mean I know with the Smith and stuff, but ponies are usally named after something, the Apple family expecially. It didn't have to be something specifically apple, but I just feel it doesn't fit into the pony naming scheme. If you named her that because of a certain reason, I'm going to feel like a silly pony, but it just didn't seem right when I read it.

It's actually my first attempt at a first pony perspective fic, and to think, I went with such a... unique viewpoint. 
This is good, very good I dare say. I feel emotionaly invested into a very nice, and a very interesting view point.

Quite an endearing story. You managed the unique viewpoint well in my opinion. The ending leaves one craving more, but in a good way. I would not mind a continuance in the least.
