(World Building Fic)

A changeling named Kevin has two reasons to be in Ponyville. One is to attend his old friend Cranky's wedding, the other is to make contact with the Princesses on behalf of his species, his country, and his lord.

As Ponies and Changelings alike come together to track down Chrysalis, the ponies will come to learn more about the world at large. A world filled with many potential allies and enemies, of various creatures and beliefs. A world that they can no longer ignore, intentional or not, leaving Twilight and her friends to figure out who is friend and who is foe.

But more than two nations are hunting Chrysalis, and for different goals. Tread lightly, ponies

I assume the griffons are after Chrysalis after they heard she'd be delicious boiled and dipped in garlic butter. :pinkiecrazy:

"Jelly" - do you mean jenny? It's the proper term for a female donkey, but they never use it in the show - Ponyville is a very pony-centric place, after all.

Large opportunity for world-building. Eagerly looking forwards to where this goes.

Hm? Did I mishear something? I watched the Slice of Life episode several times and I always heard the mayor say "I pronounce you Jack and Jelly!" I assumed that those were both terms for donkeys of the respective genders

7563855 Huh. I forgot they said that, my mistake. But it would definitely have been "jack and jenny", which are the two common-English terms for a male and female donkey. The actor for the Mayor may have mumbled the line. Modern Canadians and Americans don't tend to have a lot of contact with donkeys, so the terms are increasingly obscure.

This looks cool. I'd recommend some editing to the description (just grammar stuff) but I'm definitely watching this.

My current offer is a task force of one to hundred Changeling soldiers,

I think something went missing there.

Oh, going with comics-as-canon, then? The volcano scene certainly increased my estimation of changeling durability... :rainbowlaugh:

I mix and mash with the comic continuity as it suites my fics. But, yes, the comic origins of Chrysalis are canon for this fic, in a sense, just that she had a past before that.

Thanks for catching that- Its now corrected to say two hundred changeling.

you have caught my interest, but I am going to wait until more chapters are present before I begin reading.

Kevin and Twi seem to be hitting it off pretty well. :rainbowlaugh:

Now you've got me curious as to the etymology of the word "sansivore".

I got Sansi from Sensi, a form of the latin word sentiō, meaning to feel or perceive. My original plan was to use the latin word for emotion, but that originally referred to removing something, strangely enough. For that and other reasons, I used the latin word for sense and found sentio. After that I changed sensi to sansi to give the impression of the language evolving/changing over time. Thus, Sansivore

Mitch H is quite correct. Wikipedia; A male donkey or ass is called a jack, a female a jenny or jennet;
I thought that what was said was jenny. However being the old dragon on the site that is what I expected to hear. People not familiar with the right word may have heard jelly, many times we hear what we expect not what was said.

Thank you for the clarification. It's great to see how you're incorporating both the comic continuity and your own creative twist into your fic. As for the mention of "two hundred changeling," it sounds intriguing. To add a special touch to your story, consider weaving in a unique and meaningful wedding gift that could play a role in the characters' development or the plot. This could add depth and engagement to your narrative. Good luck with your writing!
