Genuinely hilarious work, Rand. Flash getting chewed out by his client, the Canterlot porn films, the Icarus story, these little pieces all have a real laugh-out-loud quality to them, at least in my opinion. Flash Fortune and Millicent are just plain funny and enjoyable characters that I found myself wanting to read a much longer story about, and those can be rare qualities. I know for sure if there were more chapters I would snap them up.

I really hope you find the time to do more someday.

Thank you, Contral, for your kind words and for reaching out to me in the first place. It really means a lot.

EDIT: Sorry, double post. Deleting the other one.

No problem. You're a talented guy, but moreover you seem like a good guy, and I like helping good people who seem like they could use it. Hope we meet again somewhere.

Wow. I love your style! It would be awesome to see the rest properly fleshed out.

The big question I have is:

Would he have got his revenge on his mother like he wanted?

It doesn't seem so. Rand said nothing about that in our conversation with him, and the Outline doesn't say anything about it either.

It's possible this is a plot point Rand ended up scrapping, or just neglected to mention the resolution to in his Outline. I wonder what form his revenge would take though...

I guess it's not really an issue that necessarily needs to be resolved.

Why is this story in the redux? Is it canon now? Or Is it gonna be rewritten for the redux or what?

Lol Millicent is best pony!

It's a long story, but TL;DR: At some point, Contral got the idea to approach Rand and ask him if he might have interest in the Redux. We talked to Rand for a while on Skype, and while he doesn't seem overly interested in writing FoE stuff again, he did give us this story and outline for the Redux. Contral added it to the Redux group pretty much without telling us a word before we even had an appropriate folder system. We're still debating if and to what degree it will be "canon", but for now, we'll keep it in the group.

Now I have a quandary...

This guy is a piece of shit (no censoring; at this point I say come get me mofos, I hold a lot of this place lowly indeed) just another power fantasy incel loser. But that looks like the point. His inevitable extermination is not just positive but morally necessary out of any decent human being. That's good. That he has a career at all of any length is bad. I don't look at far off futures, I was born and raised low on the socioeconomic scale. My class dictates I look at the immediate. One disease means bankruptcy, one car problem could mean homelessness. When horrifying things happen to the proletariat, especially in the concept of an effective gendercide, I must think about my relations in ghat context. This apocalypse is not and cannot be about sex. It's tainted with the flaws of all overarching, overreaching sex stories. In claiming too much, it becomes too much. Millions of lives is not a statistic alone, it's a compounded tragedy. Carefully curated scenes cannot erase obvious implications. And anyone who enjoys those should keep you awake at night. All the real incels and MRAs and MGTOWs that would slink around you, stinking of Douche V, unwashed body odor, and desperation are a prison. Of your making. The "curs that have fawned at your fingers" that "will tear out your throat if you drop." I oddly enough wish you well. I hope you can repel them.

But now it was all over. Stallions had been liberated from chains they hadn’t even realized they bore, and they were exacting justice on their former captors. All thanks to their blessed saviors, King Dainn and his mighty Caribou, no mare would ever deign to sink her poisonous roots into the good heart of a stallion ever again. Even the natural forces of the world, the crop harvest cycle, the weather, and the movements of the celestial bodies, which mares had, in their infinite arrogance, sought to subjugate, were free to occur of their own accord. The world was finally as it should be, and Flash Fortune intended to do everything in his power to keep it that way. Nevermind being a magician, he could see his true calling now, clear as day: to show mares their place.

I absolutely love this story. This resonates so much! I want to fix every mare now too! :rainbowwild:

I'm really curious how many ponies get a cutie mark on taming and fixing mares.
