The official sequel to "On a Cross and Arrow" and "On a Whisper of Wind" by Conner Cogwork. If you haven't read those, you should check them out before reading this.

In this story, Twilight Sparkle and Dusk Shine switch places for a week as part of an experiment.

Rated Teen, but I assure you that nothing will happen between anyone.

How is it official if its from another author? :rainbowwild:

besides that, interesting.

...Official sequal?:rainbowhuh:
Did Cogwork SAY this was official? Does he know about this?

You do know he is already writing a sequel, right?

There is a sequel, but good job nonetheless. Only in the party scene, it switched from colt to filly randomly.

Official...? What happened to 'On A Whisper of Wind'?

I totally hate the ponies above me for saying what I was going to say.

Ok then, maybe not official, but still, it's a good story, may I have more?

It is an official sequel. Conner told me he was eventually going to write this himself, but gave me permission to write it instead if I gave him a sample of what that would look like. So, I already have a future chapter written out where (male) Applejack visits Twilight. Conner liked it, so he let me write Exhange Student.

808079

That wasn't random. I debated myself as to which part would it switch from males to females. Eventually I decided it would switch in the middle of Applejack's sentence, but you can't tell that just by reading it. I'm also debating if the entire story should proceed like that, to keep the readers on their toes.

808670 Maybe not random, but a bit confusing.

808670

I really think you should rephrase is as an "approved sequel" or something alones the lines of that. Or atleast, "one of the official sequels".

808773

Yeah, I knew it would be...I've decided it won't be doing that anymore.

808854

Technically, it is an official sequel, just written by a different author. However, it is not the direct sequel to OCA, I guess I should point that out. This story takes place after On a Whisper of Wind. I've changed the description accordingly.

Yes, Sala did get permission from me. This was a plot Idea I had for after Whisper of Wind, but I didn't know if I would be up to writing it, considering how slow Whisper of Wind is going. Sala is in the C&A voice drama, where I met him, and showed him the plot to it there. He's taking on the challenge of writing it. So, yes, it IS official, though a little out-of-order. But there's no helping for that.

Sorry for any confusion!

Ah. well, in that case, good job, and i look forward to more!

I am intrigued, but the scientist in me is screaming at the prince/princess for informing their test subjects that they were going to be observing their behavior in a behavioral study. ALL THE DATA HAS BEEN COMPROMISED :twilightangry2:! Sooooooo much bias soooooooo much... other than that I enjoyed it :twilightsheepish:.

809643

Well..."observing" may be a bit much. It's more like "Hey, you guys go do stuff and report to us like you normally do. We'll see if there's any significant change."

But thank you for pointing that out. That's a very valid point I may have just overlooked, otherwise.

Cool the angry researcher has been satisfied and can sit back and enjoy the story now. :pinkiehappy:

811358

However, I do want to ask...what was their alternative? Just have them switch places without them knowing? That would disrupt the experiment because Twilight and Dusk would spend most of their time trying to figure out what's going on.

811405
If the prince/princess wanted to observe their student's true behavior in the new environment they would have to come up with an alternate reason for the visit (bullshit something like syncing up the elements of harmony with a slightly altered element of magic... idk something like that). This way there would be minimal alteration of twilight/dusk's basic behavior. They could have them still send friendship reports, but actually be watching their students behavior from afar (behavior studies tend to be mostly video breakdown so the researcher's presence isn't a confounding factor). There are a lot of confounding factors to deal with though, which is why I tend to stay away from behavioral studies.

811459

Ah...I happen to have Aspergers, so behavioral studies is really something I'm familiar with participating in, but not in conducting.

811472
Yeah I am a vet student so I tend to work with non-human animals, it always frustrated me how little can be controlled in a behavioral study involving humans. Most animals you can pretty well control their environment and if they are penned together they are all exposed to about the same confounding factors (noise pollution, weather extremes, etc), but humans tend to get angry when you pen them up and claim it is "for science", weird right?

811505

I know! Stupid humans.

811523
Yeah pssssssh, who do they think they are.... OH GOD I AM ONE HOW DID THIS HAPPEN :pinkiegasp:?!

811545

Haha! Sucks to be you! I'm a salamander

This promises to be interesting.

:raritystarry: I could tell this is gonna be a great story indeed.

Hmmm, well this might prove to be interesting. Lets see how well you do and whether or not you will be able to actually go through with making the story in its entirety.

Pretty nice. :)
But I have to say, this line was sorta iffy:

The purple unicorns did as they were told, but glared at each other in distrust as they passed by each other.

In "On a Cross and Arrow" the two are all 'sibling loves' and stuff in the end. It seems strange to me that they would be like this towards each other.
But yeah, it was cool otherwise.

The official AND DEAD sequel to "On a Cross and Arrow" and "On a Whisper of Wind" by Conner Cogwork. If you haven't read those, you should check them out because they are actually finished or in progress, not like this one.

In this story, Twilight Sparkle and Dusk Shine switch places for a week as part of an experiment.

Rated Teen, but I assure you that I will abandon this fic soon.

Fixed :pinkiecrazy:

(Salutes) Guess this fic was never meant to be after all.
