Spike makes a new friend in the form of Kevin the Changeling. However, he is met with a lot of chagrin from the Crystal Empire. When Twilight caught wind of this, she too confronts Spike over him making friends with a Changeling.

You know, this is possibly the first time I've seen someone make a fic about a episode before it actually aired.
About the fic itself, at first I thought you were just making a Twilight bashing fic and making her a complete control freak and a bigot as well, but when you had her explain her heartbreaking and/or heartwarming reasons, this fic managed to stun me twice.
Definitely do the Shining Armor chapter, he needs to hear what Twilight has to say. Also technically Sombra has been redeemed by now. In the comics his last major appearance so far ended with him being revived a 2nd time by all 4 princesses as they made sure he didn't fade way with the rest of the Umbrum. They all decided by his last actions, saving the Empire despite being the one to endanger it in the first place, that he deserved a pardon given all he's been through that led to him being a villain. The show writers apparently see it as canon to the show which is why Sombra won't appear anymore as it might mess things up otherwise.
This is pretty good. It show both sides of the issue and not just focus on one. I hope to see that next chapter you mentioned soon.

Kinda feels like ya NEED to write that next part. It's like, why mention it if there wont be any details or consequences from it? Would be a grand thing to see that part. I like cause and effect stories like this, puts a neat life like spin on the characters. Cheers to ya!
Most of the time, Shining Armor is okay. This time, though, he needs a stern "Reason You Suck" speech and a punch. Please write another chapter, 'cause I want to see him get his comeuppance.

Great story! I, for one, really want to see another chapter, starring Twilight vs Shining Armor, Cadence, and the Crystal ponies.
You know what your problem is, Twilight? You talk a big game about forgiveness and friendship, but when push comes to shove, you start acting like anyone who’s not even a little nice is your enemy!
This is sadly one of Twiliy's major flaws. She really have a lot to learn about being the princess of friendship.
Interesting idea in and of itself, but everyone is just so out of character that it doesn't really come together.
Also, the trigger warning makes it look silly and tumblr-ish.

Considering they were in timeout for a thousand years and changelings were apparently all but unknown until the wedding thing, they really have no business even knowing about them, nevermind feeling so strongly about them... but that's the kind of thing you can handwave for the sake of a story. That they'd be willing to do that, that Twilight would be willing to do that, and that no one, not even Cadence and Shining Armor, are willing to do anything about it is a much bigger problem. That's just heavy-handed tearjerking for its own sake.

I feel for Twilight, I do. She lives a dangerous life and that puts Spike at risk.
Honestly, I don't know what to think of this universe's Shining Armor. On on hand, I can understand his reasons, but on the other... Either way, this chapter definitely reflects real life with the Changeling's being easily compariable to the Muslims fleeing from a certain terrorist group.
