up north
it's where She heads
all alone
it's where She led the little ponies from
She wasn't alone then

the snow almost warms Her
She just tries
She tries so hard
for once
She doesn't want to think

blank
She tries to make Herself
blank
numb
but She can never forget
never close Her eyes
without seeing Her sister scream again
why doesn't the smile falter

losing
She didn't win
nopony did
they all lost
She can't find the black and white
She wishes it was there
She wishes it was nothing
She gives up after a while

there's so much quiet here in the sky
She hates it
or She could
if She could still burn
still feel right after all this
Her throat is too sore to sing

a short trip alone to prepare her for everything that comes after

this occasion is but a little slice of history
