“Don't walk in front of me — I may not follow; don't walk behind — I may not lead; walk beside me and just be my friend.” - Albert Camus

As a young orphaned foal of Sombra’s University, Twilight foiled an attempt on the life of Princess Celestia, the immortal ruler of the great nation of Celestine. In gratitude, Celestia took Twilight Sparkle under her wing as her personal protégée.

Years later, a new conspiracy is spreading across the nation, and centuries old legends are coming back to life. When a pony from beyond the Heavenly Barrier appears, Twilight is swept into a plot that not even the Barriers themselves can stop. The fall of Celestine looks to be only the beginning.

And there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight.

Many thanks to my editor Destella Morningdew for helping me with this endeavour! The beautiful cover art belongs to WhiteDiamondsItd. Seriously, go check both of them out. Some character tags are not shown for the maximum satisfaction of the reader (spoilers).

I... uh.. don't quite understand. Why are you scared?

Ooooo I like this! Has a strong 'The Golden Compass" By Phillip Pullman feel to it. (At least, when I first started reading the prologue it was the first thing to come to mind. The constructs which seem similar to his Daemons also brought it to mind.) Only read the prologue so far (will read more later) but I got to say this is very well put together. I did notice a few grammar/spelling type of errors, (which if you like I can go back through the chapter and PM you what they are?) but otherwise I think this story will eventually find its way to my favorites.

I'd think they suspect said OC to be a bad case of Mary Sue and/or self-insert. But I might be wrong.

Thanks! And yes, when I first started, I was quite enamoured by Pullman's Dark Materials. While the general world setting and plot is devised by itself, I certainly felt that Pullman's world (the alternate earth) has a similar dark take on a already well-known world. As for the spelling errors, I would greatly appreciate it, but you don't have to. Glad you're enjoying it thus far!

Perhaps. To each their own I suppose

I love this story

Somehow I missed seeing this.... anyway!
You're welcome! It is a good trilogy (which I was sad the first movie ruined the chance of them all becoming movies for. Sure the movie wasn't perfect, but I was excited to see it all happen on film! Cutting out like the last 20pgs of the book from the movie...:twilightangry2: Heh :twilightsheepish: but no need to get into a rant over that on here.) Oh yes, reading onward I can see that. Pullman's work might be a heavy inspiration, but it is clearly of your own ideas and workings with his.... style/word choice kind of thing going??? *brain is asleep right now... * And they work very well together.
And sure I can do that! Getting ready to head out here soon, but when I return I can go back over it and let you know what I find. (I might not find everything, but an extra eye for the more obvious ones never hurts.)

Now here is a question.
This is a great story so far, is this going to have an update?
