Lysander is the last remaining of the Ascended, an immortal group of angelic beings sworn to guard the eternal Flame of Life, the core of life, death and rebirth through all of existence.
As a member of the Caretakers, Lysander had spent his Ascended life healing and rejuvenating the souls of the deceased from across the Planes. Now, following a Fiendish invasion of Elysium, home plane of the Ascended, the former Caretaker finds himself in a very different world.
At first sight this world may seem a paradise, but when the Fiends of the Lower Planes are left to their own devices without Ascended supervision; who can really tell how long it will stay pure and innocent?

Even if Crystal is a Changeling doesn't mean she can't start having real feelings for him (Whether she is faking it now or not) and which could affect how she feeds off his love. Changelings in my opinion aren't monsters but misunderstood in many ways (Doing what they can survive to avoid starvation is not a proper classification of a monster). They don't need to feed a whole lot that could kill the love giver has (Just like a vampire feeding doesn't need to drink a lot of plasma from their host). You covered the ponies reactions by fear and prejudice which is understandable toward their hate towards unknown races (Kinda how the residents of Ponyville had with Zecora in a way). I hope to see other characters that the ponies may have placed their hatred into for just misunderstanding em (Zebras, Diamond Dogs, and Griffins are another type to use [Though looking into it you could use more mythic entities that avoids the populace altogether]). Wow didn't expect to have this much information to give when I started it.
