Here you have touched on my favorite, and hardest to find genres: the psychological thriller. Unlike the Hollywood productions, who do not have the guts to do so, here the world is left open to interpretation. Is this all in the mind of a mare driven past the breaking point by C.C.F. (Critical Cutiemark Failure, a personal favorite pony psychosis of mine), by having her special talent of bureaucracy made irrelevant? Or has she truly acted out the delusions she endures upon others in the land of Ponyville? My headcannon tells me she is trapped within the purgatory of her own mind, and has no real world contact, simply because it is the most horrifying choice. To be stuck in your own broken landscape forever . . . *shiver*.

Thank you for your bravery to be ambiguous, to me it adds much spice to the flavorful dish you have written.

This was intended to be a work of gothic psychological horror, essentially playing out the way you suggested. It might have been released at the wrong time or perhaps folks didn't understand the high literary style - I was trying to make it feel like an 18th-19th century work. As you can see it hasn't really gotten significant views.

Glad you enjoyed it at least, it was fun to write!

Indeed your intended style is produced to my eyes. I don't know if you ever heard of him, but this story's style reminds me deeply of the 1890's era author Arthur Machen. A precursor to H. P. Lovecraft, who delt primarily with fey related instances of horror as opposed to Lovecraft's 'old gods'.

Your tale is appreciated by the audience who can appreciate it. As Wayne Campbell said, " I mean Led Zeppelin didn't write tunes everybody liked. They left that to the Bee Gees."

Not familiar with the reference, no, but what you were saying is pretty much where this was headed. Thank you for the mental image of the pony Bee Gees, too :rainbowlaugh:
