Lord Seth

Dying is easy. Comedy is hard.

This story is a sequel to My Little Pony: Friendship Is Absurd: Equestrian Gals

Three new students terrorize Canterlot High with hypnotizing music… and much to the frustration of the Dazzlings, it’s not them. Instead, the Shadowbolts (Nightmare Moon ones) have opted to grab their pendants and try to enact the ‘take over the world’ plan themselves, forcing the sirens to try to save the world in order to take it over afterwards. Meanwhile, Twilight drags along a reluctant Sunset in trying to stop ANYONE from achieving world domination. The absurdity is back and as crazy as ever in this parody of Rainbow Rocks!

Takes place after Chapter 28 ("Tirek's Kingdom") of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Absurd.

What did I just read. :rainbowlaugh: Okay, comedy gold. I admit it.

I have been greatly enjoying Friendship is Absurd for a year and a half now. This is still hilarious.

I have some suggestions though.

As for the world not having Equestrian magic, it does now!

I get that you're reusing dialogue for the film, but this just feels awkward. I suggest changing this to "I know Equestrian magic when I see it!" or something like that.

First, that this was the world the Sirens were banished to.

This doesn't really matter, but every other time you use "sirens", it's not capitalized, so this kind of stands out.

I’m tired of discussing things we already know.

Personal problem here, but I actually do think the exposition is excessive, especially with Trixie and co.

Like, the dialogue from Trixie that follows right after this is mostly unnecessary. The castle being tax-free isn't important. The scene could have just started with Sunset's comment about PTSD.

I also suggest taking out Trixie's mention of Sunset never talking about what happened in the human world. Was that even a joke?

“Wait, Twilight? How did you get this number?”

“Because this is the cell phone I gave you before you left? How would I not know?”

“Oh!” said Sunset. “You mean you’re the Twilight from that alternate universe but who was actually originally from this universe, as opposed to the Twilight in this universe who was originally from your universe because the two of you swapped spaces several years ago. And I’m sorry for phrasing that so weirdly, but deal with Trixie enough and it just happens!

Aside from that last joke there, I don't think any of this is necessary.

Anyway, keep up the great work! Looking forward to the next part.

In the TV series, Twilight never mentions anything regarding Equestria Girls. I get the fact it's because the film is a spin-off and they don't want to make it "required viewing" for the main show, but from an in-universe perspective it's odd that it's never mentioned again until Rainbow Rocks. That's what it's a joke on.

As for the exposition in general, as this is its own story, I figure there'd be at least a few people to look at it without seeing the other stories in this series so I wanted to try to catch them up as well as remind old readers of the situation (as it was a while since I brought out the first story). The "tax free" bit is totally irrelevant, you're right, and the joke there was supposed to be Trixie going overboard with the specifics, but that might have worked better if it hadn't immediately followed some exposition.

Glad you enjoyed it otherwise!

... EqG Chryssie is just as big of a troll as the main one, isn't she?

That was hilarious. Also, Gilda with virtually unlimited access to firearms and weapons scares me.

Poor Sunset.

... Trollsalis is best Chrysalis.

I liked it. Laughed a lot, got to see that human Gilda is just as terrifying as the regular version.

Also, more Chryssie is always good.

That Sonata bit. :rainbowlaugh:

I have a lot to say... but first, I'd like to ask: What the hell just happened?

I'm not joking by the way. I'm actually really confused.

In the third chapter? Well, I'm not sure exactly what you're confused by, so I'll try to give a summary of the whole thing...

The Shadowbolts started to enact the same plan as the Dazzlings in the original film. However, due to Twilight tipping off her brother about them as well as where their strength probably came from, he had Gilda work as a sniper to shoot down the pendants to stop the plan (the "triple snipe"). The plan foiled, the Shadowbolts ran off and ran into themselves (the ones from the human world who showed up to try to figure out what was going on because they heard there were other versions of themselves going around). Both of the Stormies got knocked out, so Thunder grabbed one and ran back through the portal with Maelstrom to escape. The Shadowbolts that were actually from the human world then were the ones that got caught by the police and arrested for the whole plot (which they didn't technically do, but there's no moral quandaries here because it turned out they had committed a lot of other crimes they just hadn't been caught for). However, Thunder grabbed the wrong Stormy, thus making the one that went back into Equestria be the one from this universe, and the one that got caught be the one from Equestria.

The Dazzlings discover the destruction of the pendants and realize they can't pull off their plan anymore, but then Sonata gives her reveal. Sunset finally got the cell phone games from Twilight, but then accidentally gets knocked through the portal. Neither one can enter it afterwards, though, because it turns out the portal has a limited amount of power, so keeping it open for longer than its default setting as well as having so many go through it caused it to deactivate, preventing anyone from traveling between universes until it recharges. Then Chrysalis shows up with her "gift" to the group. The last scene is Stormy and human Suri in prison (Suri got arrested for fraud, as mentioned earlier) and them giving nearly the same dialogue as Suri and Trixie shared at the end of "Apple Stuck Season."

Yeah, I actually knew the usage of chloroform as shown on TV is hardly realistic. But this is a comedy and it was efficient enough plot wise that I went with it.

Glad you enjoyed the story!

7742778 I know. I just like being belligerent sometimes. :pinkiehappy:
