Rainbow Dash has always wanted to try her hoof at writing a story, or since she read her first Daring Do book at least. Ever since, her imagination has been flooded by exotic, far of places and amazingly, awesome characters. Upon the day those ideas finally come to life on paper, there's only one pony she can think to show them all off to. Even so, it’s a great deal more than just a simple story to Rainbow Dash, she just hopes her fantasies mean as much to Twilight as they do to her.

Cute enough story-- I suppose "Rainbow Dash writes terrible Daring-Do fanfic" is a common enough plot these days. I've used it myself, actually (shamelesspluggoreadFactOrFanfictioncoughcoughcough). Though turning it towards a more romantic-ish angle is kind of cute. Applejack's character being named "Second Best" is a great gag.
This said, the story's peppered with a couple of punctuation and typographic errors- it could benefit from a little more thorough editing. (Which, again, is a problem I sometimes have trouble with, but I digress).
Completely unrelated, I know, but just once I want to see 'Rainbow Dash convinces Twilight to proofread/edit/review her story, and it turns out to be a whole lot better than she expected.'
Out of all the Mane Six, sometimes it feels that Dash is the most... not one dimensional, more like monotone. The only time people seem to focus on her and intellectual pursuits is to have her be laughably bad at them. But what if she wasn't? What if she actually turned out to be really good?

7241061 I agree. Dashie being good at writing a Daring Do fanfic would be awesome. The fact she is bad at it is over used just like Scootaloo being homeless. I'm tired of those stories they are becoming cliché

There's a fic where Twilight and Rainbow Dash actually enter Rainbow's fanfic of Daring Do. There isn't really Twilight doing any proofreading/editing/reviewing but the story is really good

Surprise is actually not pinkie anymore. If you see the season 6 episode "Newbie Dash" there is a white wonderbolt with yellow hair. She has now gotten the name surprise (and no after what i know its not just a fan name)
