I just cant help to notice that your storytelling is very explanation-heavy. So you have any inspiration for this kind of style? Im starting to enjoy it, but the thick narratives keep getting in the way. I'll follow this story, since I always love a Dazzling revenge fic, but hopes that maybe you can trim the words a little bit?

7198490 I'll look into the idea, I certainly don't wish to ruin a good story telling by having too much information that might detract from the enjoyment overall. Though I cannot make any promises.

Ive only read 3 chapter, i'll give it a like and follow, just to see how it turns out for the future, but I wont give my full opinion till i'm catch up.

Hey, a potentially evil SciTwi!

Nice rescue! I nearly thought that Aria would be going to Elysium for a second... I'll assume the resuer's name is Yellow Tail. :pinkiehappy::heart:

7206045 well I hope you enjoy the story as is progresses. It's entertaining to write as it is to see other enjoy reading.

7212890 hmm.... You'll have to see. There is so much more to be had.

Like how it has been worded so far.

Good chapter dude, can't wait for more.

7373889 thank you, its been enjoyable to produce each chapter, building up to probably a second story once things come to head.

Well s*** man, this is some good stuff.

7389078 Its only going to get even better.

I always enjoy stories that try to give an explanation for why the Sirens did what they did. Keep at it man.

7425282 Evil is always born from evil, glad you like how its developing.

7425811

So, did the ponies try to genocide the Sirens, children included?

7567040 Since the Thestrals typically handle baddies, they are the meanest and most skilled of the crowns armed forces. Then you have the Siren race which battles for their lives daily, put two and two together and the guard had no other option to subdue. Not to mention the pony xenophobia, they went with what they had as far as information and took on the lone family of the creatures. The males being of no magical use were deadly enough to need such a violent take to remove them. The mother and the hatchlings were a bag and grab mission, so not really true genocide much as it were a need for the unique gems and specimens since they posed such a threat to Equestria. Dirty deeds so the many may sleep sound at night.

Is this about a human getting turned to a siren and getting sent there or just them finding a normal siren?

7596768 The story's focus is not about anyone becoming a siren, but of the Dazzlings coming to terms with their own problems as they attempt to get back home. How magic affects humans is more of a little arc or developing detail and visa versa. Yellow gives the Dazzlings human siren gems to replace their own and they're discovering what alien magic does when used by Equestrians. By Equestrians I mean Equis denizens regardless of species. There is still alot more to come before the end of this book before the second one I plan, and I'm touching on magic and its nature.

7596925 Thanks for the heads up dude!

7596925

How does Sci-Twi reconcile her belief of benefiting humanity throught magic, with actively joining a group of mind slavers, hate driving Sirens? :trixieshiftleft:

7622170 Well that will be covered in a soon to be chapter, the first meeting with Yellow Tail. I'll say this, he showed her something about magic. That and in previous chapters a little bit of Twilight's history plays into the Dazzlings hand or talons. Its the desperation to fill the lonely void left by her brother and the fact that she never really could make friends being so driven to learn. Sonata's past opened the willingness to help them, feeling a sense of empathy and similar feelings between the sirens and Sci-Twi. Two main driving factors that are her young naive mind sees the good in the evil, and given the fact that she's very self educated, what the Sirens are doing are no more different than what humans do. Much like using nuclear weaponry to lead to nuclear power in a sense would be best to describe this. She also sees the Dazzling nature to feed as they do as nothing short of their own nature, who is she to kill the wolves just so the farmer can have his ranch of cows and sheep when the wolves were there first. Though to really hit it home, Yellow revealed that immortals without their power die quickly as is the law of magic, so she feels ever more concerned for them no matter their past.

It was also mentioned that the Sirens had enough of her world they cared not to conquer it anymore, so with that off the table and them leaving for home. Twilight can logically feel less threatened by them. She only knows their side of the story so its easy to go with the flow.

The Human World is under the control of Satan? surprise surprise :trixieshiftleft:

You aren´t planning to add Hell to the list of the factions in play, are you?

7711822 Well I never eluded to control, but I had made a segment in a previous chapter to include what Sunset went through. But I removed it because it seemed a bit much. In a future chapter before the last one I will have something on the matter that will make sense. However that's not to say the demons of the EG human world won't have a part in this. You'll just have to find out.

7712037

I´m curious about Discord´s involvement. While he is by definition a wild card, he may be actually trying to save his world (in a twisted way) even if that´s mean the fall of Equestria as the ponies know it.

Can you talk us about the others types of magic Mister D mentioned: soul, black, dark and chaos?

If the Arcane agents have been captured by human authorities, does exist the possibility of the later ones learning about the portal?

7713733 The meeting as it progresses will cover a lot of unanswered things, rest assured Siren's Remorse will not have any unintended holes.

7745815 Can't say anything to that, but there will be something at the finale concerning that.

I really enjoyed this exposition about the thestrals, and how it gives a plausible reason as to why ponies don't see too many of them. The thestrals are essentially the black-ops of Equestria.

7788587 I'm glad you enjoyed the take I had on them, they have a role to play in the story as it goes into book two.

Well, this was a battle of wits, if I've ever seen read one.

7797075 Nothing is ever as it seems.

It's kind of a bummer when these longer chapters aren't commented on; but at the same time, when one considers all the emotions and drama from the characters, whether it's Sunset, the Dazzlings, or even Princess Twilight; you can't blame the reader(s) for being so focused on the story, that making a clever comment is the furthest thing from their minds. :P

Good work. ;D

7813736 To each their own, people chose to leave comments like you or simply read and move on to the next story. So long as I entertain that is all that matters, with proper limits of course. One can't just toss in a jumble of words and a story make. Glad your enjoying this so far.

7813862

I understand that, from the "Dazzling, Yellow and co"'s point of view (not exactly unbiased) , the Arcane and the Equestrian Black Ops (batponies) is painted in a very unfavorable light. But even from the reader 's perspective, they come up like a bunch of xenophobic, less than competent asshats (seriously, getting your asses kicked by an unarmed teacher and her student because you didn't think the bald magicless apes couldn't possibly put a fight:rainbowlaugh:) .
Any insight about that?

7822634 Well when you consider even a big burly group of men can be ambushed out of the blue and defeated, its all about the element of surprise. With what Celestia and Flash witnessed during the battle, they were protective as it was. They were there watching over Sunset hoping she'd wake up from her coma, plus we don't know enough about Celestia in the show aside from being a counterpart to the Equestrian version one would figure she'd have some form of power of her own rather than be a stand in like her solar deity self. Celestia also talked to the police force about waiting for her to wake up before any questioning, so cops out of the blue doing what they did was a huge red flag.

As for the Thestrals they will get the next chapter to themselves, going back to the one chapter that had them dealing with the sirens for a good reason and then chaos. You'll see they are not xenophobic at all. The Arcana guards are prison guards so they don't fraternize with the humans to avoid complications, that and they are like any prison staff cycled out to prevent issues for new guards. Hence you have wet behind the ears fodder since they are guarding supposedly magicless prisoners, the ones better suited for the job hold higher positions to avoid losing them should a fight happen and then applied to trouble at the right time. You'll be seeing that soon before the book concludes. Plus you can't really call the Thestrals xenophobic, they're just doing their jobs as they too are hunted by the Agents of Shadow.

Worry not, Sunset. Your efforts at being a better person aren't going unnoticed. :pinkiehappy:

Also, nice description of Sunset's first meeting with Discord. It makes sense for her to be wary of the draconequus, since she's unlikely to know about his reformation, due to her time in the human/EQG world.

As for why Princess Twilight never told Sunny about it beforehand(hoof), something tells me that the most likely answer would be something along the lines of, "Sorry, the topic just never came up." :twilightblush:

Ooh, more siren lore. I love how there's just as many deviations as there are similarities, when people try their hand at describing possible Siren cultures.

7854383 There is much more to cover, but as chapters progress so will the explanation carry.

Well done, Arcana cretins. You have just revealed the existence of magic to the human world in the most expectacular and brutish way possible. :facehoof:

7949388 The Warden was in the hot seat, guess he made the wrong choice.

Aaaaand it's over.

I'm dissapointed the technological side lost so easily to the magical one. After getting sick of hearing apelatives like "ape", "bald monkey", "lesser being", etc.. from the Equestrian natives and exiles I really wanted to read how the human authorities kicked their arrogant asses.

7969866 Well magical barriers which have been tried and likely tested against all manners of monstrous creatures and demigods, little lead bullets probably don't rank very high on the kinetic energy scale. The equestrians were powerful in their own right, but without those capacitor gems they wouldn't have likely survived nor fought the human authorities. The good thing is there are still Arcana personnel now trapped in the human world with no way to get back as it seems. With the shock of magic use, the humans will likely try a different tact this time or will there be renegades loose in the town to do who knows what as they are afraid of what to do next?

I love this series, but I just have one question: Where the heck did Oratoria come from? Why did she take so long to show up?

8085328 The best explanation I can give is, Adagio ensured when they sang to power up their gemstones that all venues were far away from Canterlot as possible and coincidentally Crystal Prep. The town is rather large so the area the Dazzlings favored happened to be enough distance that Oratoria couldn't detect them as that was Adagio's plan anyways to lay low and feed. The convention center feast was such a huge event and their performance among a few thousand attendees that she started to track them down. Of course when they went to the exiles condo on the top floor they were unable to be sensed, it took the battle at the portal to attract the other siren and the rest you know. All because Adagio wanted to stay hidden and did so very well.

From Sunset still adjusting to Reformed Discord, to the Adepts' mysterious behavior, this was another fine chapter. I just wish I was able to finish it sooner.

Glad you enjoyed, I'm going at a snails pace with the sequel unfortunately.
