The Kiss

Sunset and Twilight were both sat on the bed in Twilight's room waiting for Twilight's parents to call them for Christmas dinner.

When Twilight had learnt that Sunset had no one to celebrate Christmas with she instantly invited her over. Her parents were at first hesitant inviting a stranger on Christmas but after Twilight had told them about how Sunset had no one to celebrate Christmas with they agreed.

"And this is a D chord." Sunset explained as she placed Twilight's fingers on the guitar strings.

Twilight strummed and then gave Sunset a big smile.

"Thanks for teaching me Sunset." Twilight said. After watching the Rainbooms rehearsal she had been curious about playing a instrument. Strangely Sunset had been the first to offer to teach her how to play the guitar.

"No problem Twilight. Oh and thanks again for inviting me over you really didn't have to do that." Sunset said giving Twilight an appreciative smile.

"It's ok Sunset I like having you over. Also I didn't want you spending Christmas alone." Twilight said as she hugged Sunset.

When they pulled away the two girls noticed how close they were causing them both to blush.

Then Twilight noticed someone at the door giggling and she instantly knew who it was.

"Cadence!" Twilight shouted at the door causing the person at the door to stumble a little.

"Hey Twily I just came to tell you that dinner is ready but you two were having a moment and I didn't want to interrupt." Cadence said as she walked inside the room.

"Er we'll be right there Cadence." Twilight said her face going red and ushering Cadence to leave the room.

Once Cadence left Twilight turned to Sunset who had an amused grin.

"Twily?" Sunset asked trying to hold back her laughter.

"Oh shut up." Twilight said gently shoving Sunset who nudged her back. Soon they were both laughing until Twilight grabbed Sunset's hand and they made their way downstairs.

After dinner the Sparkles and Sunset were all sitting in the living room enjoying themselves.

Twilight and Sunset were playing a really intense game of chess while Night Light and Twilight Velvet were looking through their scrapbook.

Until Shining Armor and Cadence entered the room and started to move chairs, tables and the sofa to one side of the room gaining a confused look from everyone else.

"Er, what are you two doing?" Twilight asked as she pushed her glasses up and looking at the two.

"You'll realise soon." Shining said with a smirked.

Then Cadence turned her ipod on and a slow song came on. Then they both moved to the middle of the now big space and started slow dancing.

This caused every one else to smile and Night Light and Twilight Velvet quickly got up and started dancing too. This left only Twilight and Sunset sitting down until Sunset got up and held out a hand to Twilight.

"Wanna dance?" Sunset asked with a cheeky smile which made Twilight blush.

Twilight nodded and took Sunset's hand as she got up. Sunset placed her hands on Twilight's waist and Twilight wrapped her arms around Sunset's neck.

They started to slowly sway to the music completely ignoring all of their surroundings.

"Wow, you're a pretty good dancer Sparky." Sunset said as she twirled Twilight.

"You aren't so bad yourself Sunny." Twilight said as Sunset dipped her but she then noticed something on the ceiling as she came back up.

"Um why is there a mistletoe above us?" Twilight asked causing everything to stop.

"Aw man I was hoping it would end up above us." Shining Armor complained with a pout.

"Oh well looks like you two kids will have to make out. Don't have too much fun with it Sunset Shimmer because I'm watching you." Night Light said raising an eyebrow at Sunset.

"Ooh this is going to be so romantic!" Cadence cooed.

"Er I don't mean to be rude, but why do I have to kiss Twilight just because there's a plant on top of us?" Sunset asked genuinely confused about what everyone was talking about.

"That plant is a Mistletoe. The tradition dictated that if two people were standing underneath mistletoe they would have to kiss, and that bad luck would befall anyone who refused the kiss." Twilight said remembering what she had read online about miseltoes a couple of years ago.

"So if I don't kiss you I'll get bad luck?" Sunset asked wondering how a plant of all things could make two people kiss.

"Well no, not really it's just a thing to do when there's a mistletoe above you." Twilight said pointing at the mistletoe.

Sunset just shrugged and kissed Twilight's cheek. Which caught the lavender girl by surprise.

"Sunset sweetie you need to do a proper kiss." Twilight Velvet pitched in.

"Erm well you see I-" Whatever Sunset was going to say was interrupted by Twilight grabbing her face and kissing her.

The kiss lasted only 2 seconds but for Sunset it felt like forever.

"There done. So you can put the camera away now Cadence." Twilight said looking at Cadence who tried to hide the camera.

"Oh my look at the time! I think it's time for bed now." Twilight Velvet said standing.

"Oh mom do we have to!" Twilight and Shining Armor complained.

"Yes now get to bed." Twilight Velvet said with a stern tone.

Twilight Velvet and Night Light went to their room. Cadence and Shining Armor followed them. Leaving Sunset and Twilight where they were. So they both decided to start moving the furniture back.

"Huh that was some kiss Sparky." Sunset said with a smile pushing the table.

"Er thanks?" Twilight confused whether that was a compliment helping her.

"Relax Sparkle it was a good first kiss." Sunset said smiling at Twilight.

"Thanks, it was my first as well." Twilight said as she placed the chair back in its rightful place.

As soon as everything was put back in its place Twilight went up to her room. Leaving Sunset who said she had wanted a moment alone.

It was a perfect first kiss. Wait what am I thinking?! Twilight is my friend and that's all she'll ever be.

Sunset shook her head trying to get rid of these thoughts and followed Twilight back to her room.

7192989 Oh yeah I read that story and its AWESOME!!! But I get why you would think they're similar the only difference is in Long Road to Friendship Sunset and Twilight were both broken hearted but in this its only Sunset.
