What an awesome comeback! This is proof that not all clopfics need to just be sex, this is proof that a clopfic can take a logn time to get to any of the clop itself. I mostly ready clops to test my sanity, and i barely had any left, but this one actually brought my sanity back up. It was so cute and heartwarming before the clop came, and it didnt come batshit outta n owhere, it took quite a while for it to come, which i like, you are proof that clopfics can be good and that they need a bit more story so we arent just like, they're gonna fuck because they're horny, with this one, it's, it's ucute, they're bonding, slapstick humor, thinking the friednship will flop, but it stays strnog, and keeps getting stronger, and stronger and stronger until we actually want them to buck. 7171677 Thanks! I was definitely focusing on a more realistic kind of romantic scenario with this, not just some shameless clop. Hopefully I didn't disappoint anyone with that though. I know Starlight and especially Sunburst obviously aren't very established characters yet, but honestly I was also still kinda surprised at how few stories there were on this site that really delved into their relationship.

Hopefully you weren't too turned off by the inclusion of clop here. I know it's not really anything like my past usually satirical modus operandi, but this was far more about the relationship and romance than about the clop. I just felt like Fimfiction suffered from a serious lack of Starlight Glimmer and Sunburst shipping.
7172963 Thanks, and I dunno maybe a sequel is in order. There are so many unanswered questions about Starlight's and Sunburst's characters that might be answered soon in the actual show, who knows. I just took a crack at what seemed to me not too farfetched inner romantic feelings the two may have shared for each other all this time. I'd hate to make something that ultimately turns out very not canon, because I tried to keep this story and the characters seem at least partially believable and in canon (besides the clop obviously). Anyway, I won't rule out of a sequel, but it'll be interesting to see if the show touches more on their relationship in the near future is what I'm saying. Knowing the nature of the show It probably won't romantically, but maybe in other ways.
And apparently 9 people don't approve of this kind of fluff XD. To each their own I guess, and I'm sure this isn't perfect for various reasons anyway. I'm fairly surprised this has had the mostly positive reaction it's had so far with the featured stories list and whatnot.

7173486 I mean, I guess. Though I'm sure this story has its flaws as well and it is in fact impossible to please everyone. I know some people just don't like Starlight Glimmer's character at all as well, considering what I kinda agree to be her a bit dubious insertion into the main cast at the end of season 5. I kinda agree that she was forgiven a bit too easily after all the evil she elicited in season 5 essentially because of this very relationship I'm writing about here, but that's not nearly enough to ruin the series for me like it seems to have for some. I think it's actually a pretty good thing for the show to see her redeeming herself through this season, which is partially why I wrote this story as well. I thought this might go well with the redemptive themes of her character in season 6. Which, if you haven't watched the new episode from today, is clearly a pretty strong theme this season.
The thing is I wish people who did down-vote mine and other stories for legitimate reasons would more often leave a comment with some sort of constructive criticism as to why they chose to do so. That way I and other writers can learn from our mistakes and write better stories in the future.

I really enjoyed this story. I think it's what a lot of writers and readers wanted, considering. I particularly enjoyed the slow and awkward pace of the romance, depicting two accomplished ponies trying to make sense of feelings beyond them.
I won't spoil the story.
Anyway. I don't read a lot of clop, though I've enjoyed a few I'll admit to. I'll admit to this as well, and happily endorse it. It's very maturely done. I thoroughly enjoyed it all!

Thanks again for the feedback on this story... I honestly wish people would do that more often as long as it's constructive, both positive and negative. It really helps writers fix their mistakes and improve by knowing what they're doing right and wrong.

You know obviously there's so much just blatantly shameless and unrealistic clop and sexual content on this website just for the sake of fetishes and whatnot, and it's often quite popular.Look at the top story on the site right now for instance. However, this is not anything like that. This was about the romance... and well, like in real life, romance can obviously lead to sexual situations.
I don't think sexual content is always a bad thing for a story as long as it's done appropriately, even in a my little pony story. If it's okay to ship the ponies which is mostly unrealistic in relation to the show itself, why are sexual situations in said romances not okay? Apparently some people think it's not because over the years I've noticed pretty much all popular mature rated fanfictions with sexual content are downvoted at least a few times probably by said disapproving people regardless of quality. The people who downvoted my fic here didn't bother to inquire what they felt was wrong if there was something, most commenters here seemed to love it. I don't understand why people do that.
It's good to know that people seemed to like this, for as you know it hit the feature box a couple days ago. I honestly had no idea the ways in which people would react to this, for it had been so long since I had really written any content. From my past I already knew I had a bit of a knack for writing satire, but this is the first story of its kind that I've ever written, and I had no proofreader/editor. Just me and watching the season 6 premier like 10 times and the season five episodes involving Starlight Glimmer a couple times as well whilst writing to prevent any inconsistencies. I wanted the characterization to be as perfect as it could be here.
Anyhow, thanks again. With how successful this story was (and the second bizarre satirical story I wrote on a whim yesterday that's more like my old weird satirical writing from the old days), you'll be seeing a lot more of me and stories like this with the way my life has changed lately. I really enjoyed writing this story, and with the reaction people have had towards it it's probably my best work to date I would say. So yeah... if you really liked it, expect more pretty soon. As well as some of my old style satires.

I have a particular sense of interest when it comes to humour, and you've never failed to deliver. If that means you appeal to me, and I'm a psychotic wit? Well. Well well. Deep subject, my friend.
Therein lies the appeal of this piece - it is striking for being so faithful regarding character recognition, yet the dialog and movement is fluid and easily accepted. You've done this emotionally charged moment justice by being faithful to the underlying sexuality of the episode. I mean, that's just my opinion... I felt tension, anyway. My FiMFiction mind went that way, and you illustrated it perfectly.
I'm glad that you came back and reintroduced yourself to the new writers here. We're of an older breed, mm? All the hackneyed writings and inappropriate insanity doesn't resonate anymore - you've produced a very high quality love story that suits the times, and I tip my hat to a friend who always had the ability yet saved it for the best moment. The ratio of clop to story is very disproportionate. I got bored towards the ending and wasn't able to enjoy the rest of it. Way too much exposition between the characters. It wasn't bad by any means, just hella long.
Wow, that was great. Some people go straight into the clop part of the story and don't built relationship status...those are the only words I can think of as of this moment. Anyway, you did great. Built the relationship, had the awkward moments, everything was perfect in my eyes. Well done

I won't make you praise me anymore, for it's not necessary. I'm happy you were entertained by this story, and I do appreciate your kind words. I only have a couple things to say and I don't want to give you another kind of ranty wall of text, so I'll try to keep this as short as possible.
Yeah, I'd definitely say our senses of humor are similar, especially in appreciation of satire, and that we're of an older breed. Fimfiction has obviously changed along with the show and the fandom over the years, and the people left from the "good old days" of like 2012 era has definitely dwindled. The reasons why things change and people leave are complex of course, I'm guessing the most common reason people leave being simple jadedness. I just couldn't become one of those people, whether for better or for worse MLP and the fandom means too much to me. It's definitely good to see I'm not the only too.
I appreciate that you believe in me, buddy, and I certainly have changed since my old writing days. I recently went back and looked at some of my old blog posts from those days... and I cringed and couldn't believe I used to write those things and act in that manner. That was my quite immature attention-seeking whiny 18 year old self at the beginning of college who let his frivolous "fimfic fame" get to his head a bit. Now I'm 22 and I graduate from college this Saturday. My not always positive experiences at college has definitely changed me and given me new senses of empathy and perspective I didn't have then. I think having that certainly can only help in writing, especially a deeper story like this.
Anyhow, even if it's always all been a bit frivolous as this is fanfiction, I did always want to make a return to writing once my mind was in the right place. I feel like it finally is now, I really like how season six has been so far, and I'm glad to see the fandom seem to welcome me back with open arms, both newer members and old.
If you're gonna read my new comedy story, it's probably my weirdest and most twisted story yet. I did something similar to what I did in my work Applejack the Stallion where I took a scene from the show itself and out of nowhere sent it into a completely bizarre tangent in order to make a satirical point. Hopefully it satisfies your tastes if you choose to indulge in it.

I remember a blog or something where you were drunk and you said "This girl" referring to yourself I believe, etc. The mannerisms in which you write comments are female-esque as well. Objectively most women just write things in a slightly noticeably different way than men generally. In a place like this especially women generally stick out like a sore thumb in their social comments, being the strong minority obviously.
"Buddy" is part of the hidden satire I try to hide in most of my comments.

Well yeah. I was quite surprised nobody had really done this idea before with this pairing. You're right this story was not supposed to be like the usual generic clop premise which is like two ponies or whatever meet and suddenly they're just horny and fuck and that's the focal point of the story, not so much romance. Not that I don't enjoy that from time to time but they do strike me as a bit insincere. Nah this story was about the romance. I tried to do a more realistic romantic scenario which like in real life can lead to sexual situations. I tried to do the best of both worlds for a one shot clop story though.
