Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara. Of the first book. Of the first page. Of the first paragraph. Of the first sentence. Of the first word. Of the first letter. Of the story of their lives together.
Hearth Warming Eve, just another one for Silver Spoon, actually the blank flank named Silver Tray, being a proper doll for her family and their friends. But what happens when she gets a friend of her own at long last? A filly one day named Diamond Tiara, but before her cutie mark named Tarnished Rich?

First!
I've never done that before! But, more seriously, I've been having an awful weekend, and this was exactly what i needed. Thanks Alex

Welcome!
Not really, this is my headcanon.
Did Silver blindly follow Tarnished because the rules state so, even when she knows this is wrong ? Or did she actually want to follow and twisted the rules in order to feel better about it ?
Nevermind, she blindly followed. Poor filly, it is a miracle she could earn her CM in such a freedom-destroying environment.
Ow, That is horrible.
Too slow, Alula and Tootsie took the job.
7133600
Diamond Tiara here is ironically giving Silver Spoon her first taste of freedom.
7133600
Imagine if Diamond Tiara had thought to ASK.
Kinda like Aizen and Momo in Bleach. If Aizen had ASKED, she'd have followed him straight to Hueco Mundo. But Aizen never did, and in fact tried to kill her twice just cause.
Before I read, question, will this result in adorabetes?
7136114
I do not know. Why?
7136149
Curious.
7136152
I hope it does. Since you've been saying my stuff has been lacking in heart lately.
7136152
I'm curious what you'll think of this story.
No I believe you.
It's a human thing, nobles back then were, heavily inbred so their pinkies, a small finger on the end of your hand, stuck out due to swollen joints. Lower class people did it as a form of mockery.
That's actually kinda funny.
For a good reason.
SparRing, Silver.
... I don't know what to say other than, bravo, you actually made me tear up a little, kudos. Kudos. Guess you can write things with heart, huh?
Never much cared for candy, chocolate though, love the stuff.
And there's nothing wrong with that. We all have our slightly silly habits.
Wow.
You're a good kid.

Thanks for the commentary dude! Short as it was.
Fascinating how Tarnished Rich was so smart at such an early age.
7138113
I don't know about smart, but she WAS clever! She was a sharp little filly. As the saying goes, 'she was so sharp she eventually cut herself.'
Supercute. I definitely love the idea that when they were really little they thought they were cousins.
It is slightly bittersweet though. Silver Spoon (nee Tray) is raised to be an obedient follower by her mother, though it seems to me that maybe Silver has a bit of a follower personality in her no matter what, as some people do. (Thank goodness Starlight Glimmer in her villain phase never got near Silver Spoon, Spoony would probably have been quite the cultist). Then Diamond Tiara comes along and says "don't really listen to your Mom, you're free.... to do whatever I say!" And because Silver is bored with all the stuff her mom makes her do, but because she's also a follower pony who kind of wants someone else to make the decisions, Silver dives in wholeheartedly.
I always like seeing Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara as a pair, because Silver Spoon comes off as smarter, but Diamond Tiara comes off as more cunning, which makes for a fantastic pair of character types to watch.

Thanks! That just felt natural.

THANKS! I'm happy that ying-yang works!
Glimmer wasn't evil, she was just... didn't get the memo about not forcing your beliefs on others.
And nice in-depth look at things there.
7140504 I know she wasn't evil, but charismatic cult leaders be cult-leading, so to speak. If she hadn't been rich, maybe Silver Spoon would have ended up like Silver Shill, working for the Flim Flam Brothers. I'm not saying they're evil any more than Glimglam was, just that they, like the old Starlight, had cheerful, charismatic confidence and a clear vision for what they wanted that can suck in people lacking in their own direction.
(Now I'm wondering if Silver Spoon and Silver Shill have some sort of connection as fellow followers. Maybe Shill is the black sheep of the Silver family, after he lost his immediate family's fortune and was desperate to earn a bunch of money to replace it?)

Interesting idea.
One thing I wanted here was to show Diamond and Silver at the end of the day as being FRIENDS.
7140569 They are, they clearly are. Most of the time Fluttershy kind of follows Rainbow Dash's lead when the two are together (except when Fluttershy's fear of dragons outweighs her loyalty), but that doesn't mean they don't have a deep and mutually respectful friendship. I think Silver and Diamond are fairly similar, though DT could use some work on understanding Silver's point of view (which isn't surprising, since she's a ten year-old).
7135248
I can't, I'm not the writer. Ask what ? Following her in her path of destruction ? Didn't she already do that in the dream sequence with Babs ? Would that really change anything ?
You meant Gin, right ? If I recall corectly, she doens't have any loyalty for Aizen.
7143583
No, Gin was his TRUE second in command to his conspiracy. Momo was his lieutenant in the Soul Society.
Need more 'Minion'/'henchmen'/'followers' like this. Too many uninteresting nameless minions that just follow the villain... just because, or out of fear.
In the show, I don't like Silver Spoon. Or didn't before season 6, we'll see what season 6+ does with her now. Nor do I like her in a lot of stories where she is basically either very afraid of DT and a wimp, or just a clone of DT.
But stories/worlds like this, where Silver Spoon actually has character, and isn't just following DT out of fear, or a clone of her, but actually has solid reasons that are good. THIS is the Silver Spoon I like to read about.
-PS. Your Diamond Tiara is also the best version of DT I've ever read. A lot of your characters are the best versions I've ever read xD You write characters so well, and write awesome stories!

Thank you for the comment!
Variety is the spice of life.
Maybe it's due to the fan fictions I read, where most of the time she was Diamond's friend out of loyalty.
Thanks!
:-) Thank you. Very much. :-)
