It was just supposed to be a routine archaeological mission. Twilight was looking forward to exploring the ancient temple and heading back home to Ponyville and her friends as soon as possible. But, soon ponies start disappearing, and statues never seem to be in the same places. Through the gloom and the darkness Twilight is forced to fight for her life, with only the hidden recordings of a mysterious stallion to guide her.

Interesting read, I was genuinely impressed with this adaptation of those episodes. However I never got through the one where the doctor stores his memories in the time piece and poses as a teacher, at least I think that is what happens in that one episode. It's been a while since I watched doctor who.

Interesting little spin you've got here on this story. My one nitpick would probably have to be that Twilight doesn't technically need to worry about being thrown into the past. She's an alicorn, so the whole "being an ageless being" thing would be a moot point beyond explaining to everypony why she's "X" number of years older than when she left for her trip.
