Gilda grumbled as she grabbed the plastic bag and her receipt. The sun had barely risen as Gilda walked from the convenience store, heading home. It had become a small ritual: Get up at the crack of dawn, get enough to maybe last more than a week, and get home before anyone could see.

"Yo, G!"

Fate had other ideas this time around.

Gilda nodded her head as Dash jogged up next to her, "Hey, long time no see- what're you doing in this part of town, Dash?"

Rainbow shrugged, slowing down to match Gilda's pace, "Just decided to switch up my morning runs- what about you? It's like, WAY too early for you to be up."

"Errands," Gilda said, shaking the plastic convenience store bag. Rainbow quirked an eyebrow.

"Errands?"

Gilda groaned, "Jeeze, what're you my mom? If you really gotta know- I've been running out of razors," she said, pulling out a little plastic case of cheap PiNC-brand razors.

"I've been going through like three packs a month just for my legs," Gilda said as she stuffed the razors back, "It's super annoying."

Rainbow frowned, humming as she thought. "But... don't you have those, like, magic Wolverine claws now?"

"Yeah? Your point?"

"Well, what the heck do you need razors for anyhow?" Rainbow exclaimed, "You could totally like- do what they do in those old war movies! Except instead of a knife, it's a weird magic claw thingy."

"... Huh."

Gilda sat in her tub, staring from her hand, back to her leg, and repeating it a few times. She took in a deep breath.

Snikt.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH!"

Turns out shaving with a sharp, invisible force field was a bad idea.

Gilda should have known better than to listen to Dash, that said she should consider simply not shaving any more if it's that much a hassle and maybe try some thing else.

i kind of feel like it would be funny to see sunset get a ton of angry letters from groups like the Global Occult Coalition and The Foundation, complaining about making their jobs harder and about how they have to change all their 'how to identify a reality bender' handouts due to magic being added to the 'not our problem anymore' list. This series kind of reminded me of some parts of SCP-2798, with Sunset actually knowing how to solve the problem, funnily enough.

I think Sunset could counter them on this front, but frankly I imagine that the Foundation and Global Occult Coalition will be hostile to her unless she proves herself completely invulnerable to everything they could possibly try.

I think you actually could use the claws that way, if you first fit an equivalent to a safety razor's "superstructure" over your fingers to guide the hairs and keep your claws out of the skin. Might need a harness immobilizing the finger to the middle joint, but - hm. It's easy to make an impression in modeling clay to get sizing, there are bound to be a limited number of sizes, and the only real question is if it's economically worth manufacturing something that won't need much replacing by the consumers.
