Relic is not a pony.
He is an FF-7 unit, a synthetic pony built hundreds of years ago and modified to scavenge the Ruins of Canterlot for scraps and supplies. One day, he finds a mysterious, red, lightning bolt-shaped gem; triggering the adventure of a lifetime. While battling monsters and maniacs, Relic experiences changes in himself that he never before thought possible.

Just wondering how the FF-7a was still functioning after being under the rubble for a few years. I was under the impression that they had magical batteries that needed charging, so how come his didn't fail? The batteries seems to need to be charged fairly regularly, otherwise Relic wouldn't be with Lionheart.
Just seemed weird to me, I guess.
This is very interesting and I wish you luck in your non-Fallout goal.

I have pointed out in the story that the power supply and the circuitry of a synth (i.e. any of the FF models) are two separate things. Any synth could be activated at any time, or they could remain deactivated for eons and they'd still be right as rain. As for in chapter two, when his battery fails during the dust storm, he is revived by the Element of Loyalty, which he had just rediscovered beneath the rubble.
EDIT: The FF-7a could have, in theory, been within the magical radius of the Element of Loyalty. That would have kept his battery charged infinitely.

What will he do with this 'gem'. Will he give it to Lionheart, so he can sell it (probably undercharged), or will Relic keep it, since it's an unlimited energy-source for him, what would give him independency?

Fallout Equestria's good an' all, but I'm liking the fic so far. How can Relic be powered by magic? If this is a post-apocalyptic wasteland, I'm pretty sure there are no crystals left.
