I really needed that critique, though, 
7018555 You're quite welcome. I apologize for not being more positive, but I will say that the story wasn't necessarily bad. With a little more character crafting and such, I think it had a solid idea and your writing is actually just fine. I've read stories that I just absolutely hated or bored me to tears or disgusted me or made me laugh for how badly they were written. This one isn't as bad as all that by any stretch.
And who knows? Maybe this story will find an audience that is more receptive and will actually do really well in the contest. In any case, good luck.
