Senseless and contrived
What ticks me off is how stupid Spitfire is in this story. For a better idea of what I'm talking about.
Spitfire's logic:
One of the best fliers I've ever seen is currently leading a squad if cadets. Another flier who is around her skill range (who by the way was very irresponsible and pretentious and those traits could very well resurface in the future) has shown slight improvement. I guess I have to completely kick current leader out of the academy rather than demote her to the squadron and (maybe) kick out that one guy (snowflake) who honestly is significantly worse than everybody else.

While that is true, I like to separate the show from fanfiction. For example, yes I knew about NewbieDash, but I also figured this took place before it. Anyway, I just hope something about this will up in thus rumored sequel of yours.
7314533 Well I was planning on doing a sequel, but I had plans for another story that I'm currently working on (despite that some people wanted me to do a sequel). I can't say much, but all I can say is that Rainbow Dash, Soarin and several other characters will be in it. Might have it all complete in a few weeks.
