Oh how History exalts its heroines.
The Great and Powerful Trixie is beautiful, intelligent, and skilled; an extraordinaire, literally beyond belief. Surely, her days are filled with venture. Surely, her life brims with intrigue and mystery. Surely, a magnificent saga would unfold for all to see if her actions and words were merely written down.
This story is about such a book, wherein Trixie does exactly that. With the lovely Ditzy Doo and a bit of help from History, the curtain rises on the Last Illusion.
Though History is seldom written without bias. Who writes this stuff, anyway?

Any story with cover art to match obviously had work and effort put into it. Obligatory like for now, and I will read this when my brain isn't toast.
I am enjoying the story gimmick with the recording book.
I am really enjoying this, and I'd give you my like, but the script behind the thumbs up does not work right for me right now. Perhaps later. Eagerly awaiting more chapters!
My apologies to those reading along, but it will likely be more than one week before the next chapter update. I try to have an entire "Act" written before I post its constituent chapters, and the third act is working out to be much longer than anticipated.
The good news is that summer is coming soon. I should be able to write much more freely then. Until such a time, feel free to ask questions or talk. I will otherwise try to make "Blog Posts" to share some of my experiences writing The Last Illusion. I may do a few small edits as well.

I'm enjoying the story enormously, and I'm really curious as to the how and why Trixie has ended up in an interrogation chamber.
As to the 'Alternative Universe' tag? I don't think you've diverged too far from the norm, but I'd say yes to be on the safe side.
