A Bookish Delight story?

It must be Christmas.

What the fucking hell did I just read? I wont be sleeping happy tonight, might as well call on oreos to help me.I kinda liked it, but the ship me no like at all.:scootangel:

7063136 Bruh, you saw what kind of ship this is. I mean, it's literally on the coverart.

7063154 I like the ship, but when it was written in THIS form, I go: UUUUUUMMMM, well that was some really weird shit.

Okay.

So I saw this story in my feed and I was like "Why is Bookish using clickbait art?"

Then I opened it and I was all like "...Bookish wrote an M rated story. I suppose I'll give it a read."

I obviously didn't really pay attention to the tags because then I went "ABORT! ABORT! SUNLIGHT ROMANCE!"

But I kept reading because it was you.

In the beginning, it somewhat felt like you were shipping Twilight with yourself by Sunset as proxy because she sounded a whole lot like what I've gleaned from your blogposts. But hey, who wouldn't want to insert themselves into SciTwi AMIRITE?:trollestia:

I feel like the characters really came into their own sometime in chapter 2 when Sunset displayed extreme perturbation towards Twilight's plight. It was still kind of weird reading a romance, let alone a Sunlight romance, but I signed up for this ride and was not disappointed.

I especially enjoyed how you used the sex to magnify and reaffirm their relationship as opposed to how most people(myself included)write sex to act as someone else's release valve.

All in all, you wrote something that I liked reading through and through despite my every impulse telling me to jettison the story. That's no small feat.

You're making no sense right now, you know that?

~Skeeter The Lurker

7063301 Sci Twi, err, it just doesn't mix, if you look at it from another angle.

How dare you talk back to the King Of Oreos!! My oreos will rise from teh dead, or my stomach, and come for revenge!!

EDIT: Ignore the deleted one. I double posted.

Now for some actual story commentary:

So far I'm digging the story.

In depth I know.

~Skeeter The Lurker

Well hate to see Twilight explode like Sunset said....thou don't think she mind if it was Sci Twilight clothes that exploded only.

Uh-oh, Cinch. She probably felt good feelings in the school. Violates policy you know. :derpytongue2:

But yeeeeees, let the TwiSet flooooow. :raritystarry:

You clicked on a story tagged Romance where the only characters tagged are Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle, where the cover pic is the two of them making out, and the description is all about how they are getting together, and then you complain that it is all about shipping Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle.

What were you expecting?

This is like going to Burger King, looking at the burger logo, seeing the burgers on the menu, ordering a burger, and then when you get a burger - you complain that you hate burgers!

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY LIKE AND FAVE!

7063953

That's not what I said at all. I never said he should avoid these stories.

If you don't like that ship, that is perfectly fair enough. If you click on a story that is obviously all about the ship (despite not liking the ship) and then find yourself disliking the story, that's perfectly fair enough also. Even if the only reason you dislike the story is because of the ship you dislike. No, really. There is honestly no accounting at all for taste - you are allowed to like whatever you like and dislike whatever you dislike, no matter what other people think.

But if you then complain about it in the comments, it is in turn perfectly fair for me to go, "Um, what were you expecting?"

Let me put this in the burger analogy I used earlier. There is nothing wrong with hating burgers. There is nothing wrong with going to Burger King despite hating burgers. There is nothing wrong with ordering and eating a burger in Burger King fully aware that it's a burger, while still hating burgers. But then if you loudly declare - after having eaten your burger - that all burgers are awful, then when the rest of the patrons in the place who probably do like burgers turn and stare at you, don't be surprised if they start wondering, "What were you expecting?"

7063048

Yeeeeeeeeeeesh. All the blushing. :twilightblush: Thanks all the same. Really, I just wanted to write something I'd read myself.

I'd pass this on to the others but I've already 100% they've already seen this!

7063261

In the beginning, it somewhat felt like you were shipping Twilight with yourself by Sunset as proxy

Purely coincidence, I assure you. (I did the vicarious thing in the Moonlight fic. :3)

But hey, who wouldn't want to insert themselves into SciTwi AMIRITE?:trollestia:

sssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :coolphoto:

I especially enjoyed how you used the sex to magnify and reaffirm their relationship as opposed to how most people(myself included)write sex to act as someone else's release valve.

Thank you, and that was my aim exactly. At the risk of sounding soapboxy for a second... one scarcely sees that around this site anymore. Once in three blue moons, maybe. I've checked. Heck, it was in semi-short supply even in the old days. Not that I mind release-valve fics, it's just... in all things, balance, y'know?

(Also, according to the "Clopfics" filter at the top of the site, writing lesbianism nowadays without any "extra parts" attached makes me an anomaly too. This is the 2016 we live in :trollestia:)

Ah well. I'm terrible at release-valve fics anyway. Believe me I've tried, but if it's not fulfilling for the characters involved, I just can't get into writing it.

Anyway, I'm glad you liked it despite every single one of your better judgments. Means I'm doing something semi-right. :pinkiehappy: Thanks for the review!

ok some issues with this chapter

1. they did not trick cinch they pointed out no one would belive her

2. it would be verry easy to break this little threat from her threaten legal action she cares far to much about her reputation to ever risk a media circus of a sweet and adorkable girl like twilight getting on camera talking about how mean cinch is and we know the other shadow bolts would back up this claim as we saw they are good people and cinchs hold over them was broken in the end when they stood up to her

3. refusing to get others involved just makes the drama feel forced as hell you present a solution then back out of using it for no reason

The only reason I am reading this is because I got a bit pulled by the cover art... I do not mind any and I mean any ship so long as it's done well, it's kind of my motto for shipping stories

Now if you'll excuse, I'm going to start reading and see if this deserves me like :trixieshiftright:

Pull the harddrive's data, format the computer, and spend the rest of the weekend gleefully dismantling everything in the room. Mwahahaha.

Well after read through, I can say this... it definitely deserves my like

7064363
And the best part? Everything would still be there. Nothing broken, nothing damaged, nothing stolen. Everything would just be in smaller parts... And maybe scattered and mixed together. Good luck trying to sort that mess out.

In all seriousness though, that hard drive would definitely be copied and wiped... Maybe some blueprints/notes copied and altered :trixieshiftright:

I cannot word it better than IJAB did. Physically cannot. But I will say this.

I have a mental disorder, Aphantasia, and you almost made me able to visualize the Twilight winter scene and the SunLight sex scene. Sadly, it's impossible, but I got a slight glimpse of Twilight's face during her emotional breakdown.
This story really moved me. It inspired me. Unfortunately, I will never mentally or physically be able to put my stories out with a lot of graphic detail, due to my disorder.. but I am thankful this almost made me able to see it in my mind. For this story, and for almost helping me visualize my first image, I thank you.

7064477
Here, witness the healing power of SunLight! Should start a church. 'And yea did She of the Hair of Bacon lie with the Lover of Knowledge. And all who witnessed said "It is Good."'

B... Buh.... Bookie? You didn't just... did you? COMMENCE READ.

That... Was one of the (if not the) best SunLight story I think I've ever read...
And that's saying a LOT ! :rainbowderp:

It had the perfect amount of romance, cuteness, and sex that a shipfic like this could ever have.
You just fully satisfied my shipping needs. :yay:

7064477

Things like this keep me going (even in the midst of... other things).

You're very welcome.

7064830
This too.

Never thought about Sci-Twi's little science room after she left crystal prep. I wonder if she ever did get it back/ guess don't matter. Was a good enough read though.

Ok, I am a HUGE sucker for romance, Sci-Twi and Sunset especially. This fic was heartwarming, utterly adorable, and a perfect amount of romance, real world, and ultimately: ...not even clop but wonderful use of intimacy, because every other word I could think of CHEAPENS the QUALITY of what they shared, especially in the last 2 chapters!! Seriously, for me it was THAT GOOD!! Well done, VERY well done! And thanks for bringing me feels to the surface with a pair of my favorite characters!

Might be repeating myself here, but this is some great stuff, Books!

Shame I gotta downvote it because Sunset's still wearing her tights in the cover picture, though. Sorry, it's out of my hands!

(Kidding, kidding. But yeah, let's fix that when the sequel comes around ;).)

BOOM! Damn, I think my daw meter exploded.

JMP

Twilight asking out Sunset was really cute. And it was funny seeing Twilight make pudding in a beaker and on a budson burner while using scientific names for the ingredients.

Awesome...
I love your writing style, I love your story... it was good. So good.

I do agree that there is more that they could do to fight this situation through legal means. Since I believe that Twilight wouldn't have signed any forms waving her right to her intelectual property. Meaning in my professional unprofessional opinion, even if she used CP funds and equipment, she would still own the product of her research.

That being said, I think sabotage would be a good way to go. I mean, there's got to be something in the lab that can be turned into an EMP generator that could be 'accidentaly' left where it could be easily triggered. ;)

JMP

This is definitely the most interesting clopfic I've read. I've read some good ones, but none really got into the mind of the characters like that. Where they had sex so good that not even the narration is fully aware what's going on. I really wish there were more ship/clop fics like this out there, rather than the 2k word mindless sex "stories" that flood this site.

And I'm just going to throw my two cents in on that mess that was happening in earlier comments (without replying to any of them directly since I don't feel like getting a headache), I don't support any ship within MLP. Based on character interactions, I've yet to see any romantic potential between characters that are not already in a relationship (so excluding the Cakes and Cadance and Shining, obviously). But, that doesn't stop me from liking these kind of stories. A well-written story makes me stop caring about how I don't ship anything, and this was a well-written story. It was cute, it was heartwarming, and it was fun.

7066852

Fun fact if it helps: Twi rigging a timed EMP out of stuff from the JUNK! box was the very, very first version of this story! Kid ya' not.

...this story went through countless revisions before it reached beta. Countless. :pinkiesad2:

7066056

Intimacy is wintimacy.

You're welcome! I'm so glad you liked it so much! Partly because this is the only style of this sort of story I'm capable of writing (:twilightblush:) but also just 'cause it's clearly made you so happy! Thanks for letting me know!

hot and a good story

Whew, saucy.

Stories that assume a noncanon relationship from the word go are always risky, but I can buy into this one. Not because the how and why are thoroughly fleshed out, but because the two of them just have believable chemistry together. They both have book fantasies! That's cute, plausible, and better at selling the ship than any amount of shared angst.

Also digging the indirect approach to conflict resolution, which isn't something I see too often.

Not the best sex scene around, but it was engaging enough that I didn't start skimming over chunks of it like I do with the painfully formulaic examples out there.

Stories like this are why I leave the M filter off, in any case. The odd tender, steamy romance makes putting up with all the 2nd person clopfics in the feature box worthwhile.

7066095

What are these "tights" that you speak of

Come sequel time these two(?) will be lucky if they're wearing makeup much less anything else

7066860

Appreciate the review! Though:

sex so good that not even the narration is fully aware what's going on.

Can I quote this? :pinkiehappy: No, seriously.

7064363 Same as what i was thinking but sabotage some of the equipment to monumentally fail if they try and use it.

I don't normally read anything with explicit sex in it. Not that I dislike it, it's just not my thing. I tried it once and it just felt awkward.

I do, however, love me a good romance story, and you hit the mark with this one. This is good. This is grade A shipping, romance in its purest form, and the sex is used as a stepping stone to reach a higher level in their relationship rather than simply mindless pleasure. Me like.

Funny thing is, I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life alone. I've never put much stock in relationships, both platonic and romantic. I simply don't have the need for human contact that seems so prevalent in our race.

You made me want it though. Somehow, your depiction of the ship made me want someone with whom to share my life. Someone to accompany me in all of the ups and downs I encounter, someone to love and cherish and appreciate.

So congratulations, you managed to make me want other people in my life.

I should go out more :twilightblush:

Oh yes, this was very beautifully done. This is the kind of M rated story I think I could recommend to people without looking around furtively and wearing a hoodie. :twilightsheepish:
Well done!
