I like this premise, DIscord seems like the type to play (unintentionally) lethal 'jokes' like that. I would suggest you consider revising Discord's little part though, it comes off as stilted after the flowing narrative that prefaces it.
Okay, now that sounds like discord. The formatting could use some work, and you might consider merging this into the first chapter, but I am pleased to see this getting some more to it.
