Ah I'm glad I found this again it's as great as when I first found it.

You know, I wondered what BM could possibly stand for during my reading...and then I saw it. I seriously had to stop when I saw it. BM's name...it was a neat little nickname my mom called me when I was little (and still does occasionally to this day), and seeing part of my username, I think you can see how that happened.
I don't care if this is a tired old catchphrase by now, but this story literally got 20% cooler on a personal level. Even though I haven't experienced anything like what the story is, the sheer coincidence of that name made me like this even more. And I already loved this story to begin with.
Hell, you made that nickname 20% cooler to me. Man, this fandom absolutely rocks sometimes.

I remember this one from way back when most ponyfics were on deviantART. But I never did read the final part until now. Still a great story years later.
I read this Fic a long time ago, before I join fimfiction, but. On devianart. Since I wasn't a member there, I couldn't post my thoughts.
I loved this. The idea that derpy fell in love with a stallion who couldn't talk at all, like she is here I'm guessing, is wonderful.
I did feel sad when I heard he was dead,
but since there's more chapters to find here, maybe he's still alive?
Anyway, I'll read chapter 2 and onwards now. Since my house computer is still occupied I'm reading via the iPad.

I agree with The Letter J, I'm very pleased with this ending.
This was probably the third Fic I ever read before first coming to fimfiction, (counting my little dashie, my little dashie a sequel, my little dashie threequel and my little dashie fourth time's the charm as one Fic), the second being derpy's rainy day.
Glad things went so well and dinky's family is whole again.

I realize it's a bit pointless to nitpick a four-year-old story, but:
Not sure what the last sentence(?) means.
I know Fluttershy uses the word "armscye" once; but I don't feel like that justifies it. (Admittedly, I'm outnumbered seven to one on TV Tropes.)
This distracts me a little with the question of where the exact boundaries of Ponyville are, and where the house was if not in Ponyville.
Also, not sure how I feel about the premise so far. Why is Ditzy encouraging Dinky? Does she really think she can succeed where an official inquiry, presumably fully backed by the crown (it being a search for Twilight's student's father and Rainbow's friend's brother-in-common-law) on top of every bit Ditzy could spend, failed? Surely the best approach would be to let the professionals do what they're best at, and just keep putting pressure on them and working hard to fund them?
Even if Ditzy's lost faith in the professionals and elites, is she really unable to continue the search herself? Is her aphasia that debilitating? Can she not afford a translator? Do the Cakes and Quarterback refuse to support a lost cause, even for the Cakes' own son? In TV Tropes terminology, why are Adults (and professionals) Useless?
Since the story deliberately brings up the issue of money, who's going to fund the search? Has Ditzy been accumulating money ever since she gave up on the search, so that she now has plenty? Is the idea that Dinky will be able to live more cheaply on her own, because she's smaller and because ponies will be more likely to share food and lodging (and possibly information) with an innocent filly than an adult? Seems kind of cold, considering the potential danger to her.
The story also repeatedly mentions years passing, bringing up the issue of time. Exactly how long has it been since Bran disappeared, and since the investigation was abandoned? Exactly how old is Dinky, so that even though she's only just getting her cutie mark, she's free (now or two years from now) to leave school (is she in school?) and go travelling on her own? Is this before or after Diamond Tiara's cuteceañera; or is Dinky's appearance there being ignored?
Also, apparently this is in continuity with Trapping the Quarterback, and possibly with After Mare-Day Gras. Are there other stories in the same "universe"? Do you have a timeline or reading order posted anywhere?

Bit awkward to combine an action (shaking) with a state (knowing) like this. Maybe "The filly shook her head, knowing...".
Again, awkward to combine an action with a description. What does her manestyle even have to do with this paragraph?
She has a crest? What does that mean, exactly (if you'll pardon my ignorance)? And what does it look like? Is it different from her cutie mark?
I'm also not sure how I feel about same-gender couples being found all over Ponyville, and presumably having the full support of the crown (presumably not a recent development), yet at the same time needing secret safe houses. Who are they being hidden from? And if they're a secret that can't be told to anyone, how do the ponies who need them find out? But those parts might make more sense as I read on (if I get around to it).
(At the risk of transphobia: I was also a bit uncomfortable at Hairspray being so close with Dinky (not even her genetic relative); meeting her alone, at night, in secret; and sharing a tight, affectionate, presumably naked hug with her. But I guess it wasn't necessarily a human-style/bipedal/full-frontal hug.)
