Yeah, I found that to be odd as well. I felt as if she gave a good amount of information about herself and her special talent; however, the final sentence in the chapter leads me to believe that there is a possibility that she's lying about herself to them and that Sharp is taking notice of that. I cant be 100% certain, but I have a feeling that's what it is.

Okay, time for some guess work.
Horn Caps seem to both prevent magic use and cause magic to get stored in the "bright blue crystal the size of a pea," given the context of what he's talking about. Since they also seem to have full ones, either they have Unicorns that they're keeping as magic generators or Whiskey has been putting Horn Caps on his horn as a way to make money.
I'm willing to bet the latter, since they seem to be alone.

It just doesn't seem likely that this is actually the case. Based on the detailed map of said country, she might actually be from there, but Blink is kind of a weird name and she seems a little cagey for that sort of work.

I'm actually a little surprised they wouldn't have done that already, or tried to. Especially after seeing her magical potential, she's a bit dangerous to just think playing her for a fool will work for long. Perhaps her value plummets if she's only good for menial labor?
Curious as to what those black splotches could be. My mind immediately jumps to Sombra-esq crystal formations to act as some form of magic dampening but 'splotches' doesn't fit.

Honestly, I was a little surprised at how quickly Whiskey and Sharp Tack seemed to decide they were tired of her shit, but it made sense. It's kind of funny how just in the past several chapters, they keep going from thinking they're in control to realising that Sparkler is way more capable than they're expecting. Every time.
Kinda wondering what her objective is, though; these ponies don't even seem too bad, so why try to steal from them and then blow up their stuff? Also, a Bureau? What is this, Andromeda?
They must be fairly close to Portsmouth, then.

Sounds like that other tagged character. Also, since we now have verification that Equestria exists, Sparkler probably came from there.
