Ditzy Doo goes to visit her sister, Daring, in Vanhoover. What begins as a family reunion, however, quickly sours when old scars are reopened. This family feud may turn into something fatal...
On the advent of her coronation, Princess "Derpy" De Raptura continues to adjust to life as Equestria's newest ruler, but soon finds that the power she was granted requires a greater sacrifice than she could ever have thought possible.
Calamity befalls the royalty of Equestria and, in lieu of plans that took decades to create and moments to ruin, control of the cosmos is bequeathed to the only pony Celestia had time to empower.
Oh look, Trixie's life has come crashing down. Again. Is there any way she can get out of her cycle of success and failure? A certain Princess of the Night might have the answer, but first Trixie must catch her attention.
Amethyst Star (also known as Sparkler) is a unicorn who lives in Ponyville. She's the librarian for the Golden Oaks Library, and loves to read. But when she reads about the possibility of a huge threat to Equestria, she's not one to just sit idly by.
A feud between sisters, a valuable medallion, all tie to a mystery as old as EW2. Now Private and Evenstar begin their hunt for a killer from the past.
Quite the start you've got going here, Mary Sue. I have to say that I'm interested, and I can't wait to travel eastsnuggle Applejackfind out how Vinyl saved Octavia see where this goes.
So these guys are apart of some group of criminals, huh? Why do I get the feeling they're going to end up following that dainty little mare wherever she goes? I suppose I should hold off on guesses until we hear from this mare.
Oh man, they aren't prepared for what's in store. I can tell already that those two will go through hell and back before they find any sort of payout from this mare.
Well, I'm hooked. It was a really unsteady start for me, mainly because of having to introduce an entirely new and original world, but things are progressing nicely, and I'm very intrigued as to what will come later. I'll be watching this story for sure.
Huh, didn't know what norn stones were before now. Guess you learn something every day. I find it interesting that Sharp Tack is interpreting Amethyst Star () as cagey—while she isn't giving long answers, she did already give them some significant information about herself and the questions he's asking aren't really great conversation starters anyway.
6853815 Yeah, I found that to be odd as well. I felt as if she gave a good amount of information about herself and her special talent; however, the final sentence in the chapter leads me to believe that there is a possibility that she's lying about herself to them and that Sharp is taking notice of that. I cant be 100% certain, but I have a feeling that's what it is.
Horn Caps seem to both prevent magic use and cause magic to get stored in the "bright blue crystal the size of a pea," given the context of what he's talking about. Since they also seem to have full ones, either they have Unicorns that they're keeping as magic generators or Whiskey has been putting Horn Caps on his horn as a way to make money.
I'm willing to bet the latter, since they seem to be alone.
Whiskey held the mare’s notebook in his hooves, flipping through the pages. “She’s been places,” he said. “The Riverwood Forest, some place called Hoofprint, the... June-amp Ocean? Ever heard of that?”
Oh man, those places sound awesome. The discrepancy between her Aristocratic look and her long journey is making me wonder what she actually did in those places though.
6854126 I'm willing to bet that her earlier explanation of where she comes from could also be false.
My name is Bright Spark, and I am the personal assistant of representative Blink, delegate of Her Royal Highness Gold Crown of Harmphstead.
It just doesn't seem likely that this is actually the case. Based on the detailed map of said country, she might actually be from there, but Blink is kind of a weird name and she seems a little cagey for that sort of work.
I'm actually a little surprised they wouldn't have done that already, or tried to. Especially after seeing her magical potential, she's a bit dangerous to just think playing her for a fool will work for long. Perhaps her value plummets if she's only good for menial labor?
He could just barely make out tiny black splotches inside the crystals, hidden by the swirling colors of their respective gems.
Curious as to what those black splotches could be. My mind immediately jumps to Sombra-esq crystal formations to act as some form of magic dampening but 'splotches' doesn't fit.
6873960 I'd say she's got about as decent a plan as any escape attempt. Step 1: Knock out the idiot that caught up Step 2: Teleport away (she seems to have no problem with multiple jumps and at a distance) Step 3: ??? Step 4: Profit!
Yay! Finally, more chapters! And development! Honestly, I was a little surprised at how quickly Whiskey and Sharp Tack seemed to decide they were tired of her shit, but it made sense. It's kind of funny how just in the past several chapters, they keep going from thinking they're in control to realising that Sparkler is way more capable than they're expecting. Every time. Kinda wondering what her objective is, though; these ponies don't even seem too bad, so why try to steal from them and then blow up their stuff? Also, a Bureau? What is this, Andromeda?
“Yeah...” he continued. “And before her, there was some kind fellow with a strange name. How’d he spell it? Cupric Nose? Circus Pone? Copernicus?”
Sparkled looked back down at the registry. “Uh, Coin Spruce.”
Patch Moss smacked the countertop with a hoof. “Yeah, that’s it! A strange sort, talked like he was from another planet sometimes, but he's the kind of guy you just can't not love, y’know? Sometimes I wonder what it is that brings ponies by here, in all honesty.”
Main character is mysterious. But the story is not [Mystery], so assumed there's no reason to interrorgate her for her dark past by force of evil sorcerer police. Maybe they cannot (unable to catch her or she doesn't know)
Some pegasus from Equestria stopped by five days ago, wanting to take a look at the tomb itself. Can’t say what she was after, but she seemed satisfied just looking around.
Sounds like that other tagged character. Also, since we now have verification that Equestria exists, Sparkler probably came from there.
Imploding Colon, are you using yet another account?
Colour me intrigued.

That's one hell of a way to wake up from a coma: chugging alcohol. She nearly put herself BACK into a coma.

The scenery description was very nice towards the end. Gotta love it when a picture can be very easily formed, and in detail.
Huh, didn't know what norn stones were before now. Guess you learn something every day.

I have a feeling this is going to be important in the future.

6854126 Oh crap, I totally missed that line. Yep, she's totally full of it. Dang.

Seriously, this is the third daily I've found that started up within the last three months or so. (I just hope this lasts longer than Sea.)
Use of the word Someone instead of Somepony. Where is this place?
Okay, time for some guess work.

In Gallo-Roman religion, the god of horses. Appropriate.

Latin word for Field and derivative of High, literally meaning 'High Field'.
Well, it is in the north!
Well, she certainly has a lot of magic if the tendencies from the last few chapters are to be believed.

Maybe she'll appraise herself for you!
I'm ready for more - you've certainly done a good job so far. I hope you keep this rolling!
Hmm, why wouldn't they want Sparkler to know where they are? They seemed to be pretty open about where they're going, but not what they're doing.
Latin word meaning Hill and Wave, literally Hill Wave.
What paper? Did she take the map?
Hmm.
That was fast. Is Sparkler trying to run away, or what?
You have my attention!
That's unexpected!
Blasted bandits...
Damn, Sparkler! You're such a tease... what'n the hay do you think you're doing? Do you even have a plan?
No. No you haven't.
She just took their map - I think. (Maybe she took something else - the author was really vague.)
I'm actually a little surprised they wouldn't have done that already, or tried to. Especially after seeing her magical potential, she's a bit dangerous to just think playing her for a fool will work for long. Perhaps her value plummets if she's only good for menial labor?

They must be fairly close to Portsmouth, then.
Also, that was a map of the region.
This is making me wonder what these fairly infamous ponies are doing in the middle of nowhere.
Okay. Sparkler filled up a four day horn cap in... a couple of hours?
Okay.
Also, teleportation seems to be either part of her talent or something she's practiced a lot.
Uh... what? Sleep casting, if I have to guess, or maybe someone caught up to her.

I'm starting yet another journey into the unknown.

I already anticipate the crew building.
This is going to be epic.
