Over two hours after taking off on a routine transatlantic fight, United Airlines Flight 7893 winds up in Equestria after flying into a strange light while flying over a storm. After the jumbo jet manages to land safely, two different species from different worlds meet for the first time, and many new friendships are created.
Some language and minor violence, and some adult themes.

In the description you said that the plane flies through a strange light. It sounds like the same scenario as in Stephen King's "The Langaliers".

The net result of a 747 exceeding the structural DNE! Velocity by nearly 100 knots...

In other words, the first thing those pilots should be hearing after the world jump should be the OVERSPEED alarm screaming bloody murder at them.

Also, it can't be an easy task to write summations of what amounts to around 400 people. Shock would be the simplest explanation, and quite a legit one as well considering the circumstances.
Robert seems to be taking it almost too well. A borderline, if not outright Mary Sue.
You began 8 sentences in a row with "She", that's pretty annoying to read. Also I would expect that the landing gear breaks when you land in a desert, that and the Aircraft has emergency chute's so there's no need for the Pony's to build anything.
I don't read books, but this is interesting.

I like this so far, but I'd suggest using italics for thoughts.
I'm liking the story, but there are a couple things things that I want to point out:
-I honestly can't tell who's talking with who during this chapter. The dialogue just seems mashed together.
-And yes, the story does seem a little rushed. Try and take your time to look over your work and add some other details.

Yeah, all passenger jets come with emergency chutes to evacuate the passengers. However, you got RD perfectly, except for the giggle. I can't see her giggling, she does more laughing than giggling.

You need to be more more descriptive, not just of the current situation but also of what is unfolding.
I'm not sure that a fully fuel laden 747-400 can land and stop on dirt…

It can. It most certainly can, so long as it isnt swamp. Just dont be expecting to take off again...or moving at all for that matter... cause your going to sink at least a foot into the soil...
And yes a passenger plane landed in a rainlogged field. It was on aircrash investigation. A perfect landing in a waterlogged narrow strip of land with an overflowing earthern dam at one end. A forest at the other. And the blokes upfront managed to land it, come to a stop, and everyone didnt but suffer a scratch. Did i mention this was with a torrential downpour and a 5 knot crosswind? And they had an engine out?
Those pilots had balls of platinum. They deserved more than what they got...
