Twilight never told anyone the story of how she lost her horn and her friends have accepted long ago the fact that she doesn't want to talk about it. They've also accepted her rather critical view of the current government, even if some ponies in Ponyville still keep their distance from her, because of that simple fact. Needless to say, Twilight's life has never been easy, but fate will show her soon what it has in store for her.

Interesting premise...you have my attention.

This is very well written however if the plot is what I think it is, it may be kind of cliche. While this is not entirely a bad thing, if it becomes a running theme it may hurt the overall uniqueness of the story. but you seem to have taken steps already to make this work stand out I.e. A seemingly remorseful celestia

But what do I know. This is your work do what you want. I am happy to be along for the ride.

If twilight is the only pony to openly criticize Celestia is she seen as on out cast?
How many ponies disagree with Celestia?
Why does anyone care about twilight sparkles opinion?

6784330 I'm afraid I'm going to destroy this premise very soon. You....know...what happens to Rarity's mane, when they recover the Elements? The main theme of this story might not be what everyone thinks it is.

Of all Ponies, why did it have to be Trixie, why not have Sunset stay and not go through the mirror or become evil in the first place, at least this way if it was Sunset she could help Twilight, maybe even find a spell to repair Twilight's Horn so she can use magic then.

Sir, madam, possible cosmic entity or inter galactic being I am gonna need you to come back and advance this story for this premise alone is the single greatest thing I have ever read.
