dArk magic can be used for good, hell in dragon age you can learn blood magic and necromancy...,but anyways a dark caster can still have a remnant inside of him that allows him to cast for the sidea of good.
Is it just me, or are there several stories that have taken year long hiatuses that are suddenly getting updated, i suppose the new year is giving new energy to the writers
