I was not expecting such a good treatment of the subject. Ethics aside, you are absolutely right that a good rhythm can make all the difference to a good massage, and the deep relaxation you can get from some types (including this type) of massage, plus focused imagery like that makes a fine hypnotic induction; some light suggestions like that would behave just like that.
Using a lamia's body for compression/kneading massage is a wonderful technique. (I'm much better at deeper muscle massage myself; I would never manage to pull off what they do.)
What they gave him is exactly as advertised -- a wonderful massage technique that will probably be unrivaled by anything else he's had.
A light suggestion of "write a good review and leave the snake surprise out" would certainly be fitting and work well.
Now, how well this would work at being the deep hypnosis implied with the rest of the things described in the story? That's questionable, but if you have lots of repeat customers and do a slightly stronger reinforcement of the suggestions each time ... and it would have to be something like that for a light touch outside of the spa to activate a trance later.
