Princess Celestia has a bad habit. Politics sometimes get in the way of making smart choices. In a busy life, it's hard not to cut a few corners sometimes.
To Princess Luna, this is not an appropriate excuse. She plans on invaiding her sister's dreams and showing her the true repercussions of her problem.

I liked it. But to me this seems odd. Mostly because it would actually cost more bits, time and resources to replace an Element Barer of Harmony with a Changeling than to give the Element Bearers the medical treatment they need. Like really, give Pinkie some antidepressants and a therapist rather than REPLACE HER BECAUSE SHE IS IN AN EXISTENTIAL CRISIS!
Forget it.... This should be taken as a Dark Comedy. It's an interesting concept. But one that would fall-apart rather quickly. And The way that I took Starswirl's Spell is that the idea was to Destroy the old caster's body, so that the matter from that can be used to forge a new Alicorn body for the caster using the power from the Elements of Harmony. For all we know Twilight may have died and resurrected, and that whole sequence with Celestia singing was actually a near death experience. Celestia might have just gone along with it because of the sheer madness that would ensue if ponies realized that there is a way to be truly be resurected, so she covered it up and instead crated a cover-story where Twilight was meant to be her successor and that only her can be turned into an Alicorn. And Equestriasn being under a prosperous rule like that of Celestia where not going to question it, because after a thousand years of relative peace, any country would become complacent.

That is exactly the point. It would probably be easier to save the old elements. It's supposed to be farce comedy. The humor comes from the needlessly contrived situation. Celestia does something that she perceives as easier, but most rational humans or ponies could tell you that her plans are ridiculous. I hope you still drew enjoyment, and I thank you for giving well-thought-out constructive criticism. There honestly isn't enough of that on the Internet .
