A pair of brothers and a set of adventures meet while seeking a treasure secreted away in the Castle of the Two Sisters. After working together to recover a fragment of Princess Amore of the Crystal Empire, the newly formed group finds their task of helping restore the princess far more complicated and dangerous than expected. Using the fragments of Amore as bait, an unknown force begins ponynapping highly skilled unicorns and stealing magical artifacts for an unknown purpose. As the members of the group struggle to bring together the fragments and discover the motives of those taking the unicorns and items of power, they will have their lives changed in ways that none of them expected.

this has no Rarity tag and I am suddenly seeing it in my Rarity search

site is going bonkers

edit: and it's gone. weird.

6699503 Thank you for the comment. There should have been a Rarity tag, but is was not showing. I have had to drop the Zecora tag so that I can have the Rarity tag active. I hope they iron out whatever is going on.

I haven't read the story (it's incomplete, and I have a backlog), and this may have already been asked, but: has this been shaken up by the ending of comic #37? Will it be an alternate universe where Sombra's resurrection(?) plays out differently? I hope you don't plan to abandon or try to rewrite it just because it contradicts a story that's widely disliked and hard to reconcile with other canon anyway.

6792259 I have not read comic # 37. Life has been a bit crazy, and I have not had the time to get a copy. I use the comics as inspiration, but try not to follow them too closely. There are some of the comics that are really good, but there are a couple that are just horrible. I plan to keep working on the story, and will not let the comic ending change the plot too much, if any. It is strange, every time a write a story with Sombra the canon derails some part of it before I can finish it. I am oddly used to it by now.

6792259 Was Siege of the Crystal Empire really that hated by the fandom?

Will Sombra appear or at least get mentioned in this story?

7481087 Yes, Sombra appears in this story. He is only in one chapter So far, anyway. He will also show up as the story winds down.

7481085 From what I can tell, it got mixed reviews. I think that some were looking for the Sisters to have a bigger role and were disappointed that they did not. Having them taken out the action to prevent a deus ex solution, again, got a ton of bad feedback. While it is certainly not the weakest of the comics' storylines, I would not rate it among the top either.

The brothers mentioned in the synopsis are the Flim-Flam Brothers, right?

The brothers are not the Flim-Flam pair. They are ponies from Ponyville that get pulled into the adventure.

Radiant Hope is in the story too. She and Sombra both play parts in the story, but the focus of the narrative is on Cobalt, Stone, and the group of adventures.

Took me some time to get to this story. I'm really glad you didn't save on the fluff! It warmed my heart plenty of times while reading through it. It also made long for the kinds of relationships you show in the story. Thank you, I'll probably be revisiting this one day.

Finally found time to read this all the way through. Loved it! You can definitely tell that its your writing style; excellent characterizations, and a good blend of action, comedy, romance, and some interesting plot twists!

The very first chapter was bit abrupt in that it introduced the characters outta nowhere, and the time-skip mid-way through the story was abit jarring. There's also other things I would've liked to have seen, such as Amore forgiving Sombra, but perspectives were limited to help focus the story.

If I had known of it as it was coming out, I would've loved to write a comment for every chapter, but still, glad I was able to read through it all now, at least. An excellent read with fantastic characters! Kudos!

I am glad you liked it. It has its rough spots, but I loved writing this story and learned a lot while doing so. The one thing I did not learn from it was how to keep a 'short story' idea under 100K words. I am going to have to work on that some more. With G5 coming out, I hope there are a lot more opportunities to do so.
