Ah yeah I really loved Rob's story so wanted to write my own theory as well.
Season 5 really put me in a writing mood so trying to finish another few one-shots while I'm at it.
Methinks this story is awesome...
I almost wanted her to bust out with
"I... HAVE.... AKIRA!"
But then I guess the elements would have lost at that point.
There are more than a few crazy/dangerous Twilight fics out there, but interesting idea to tie it into the recent season finale. That was another disappointing aspect of that episode (at least to me), that while in many worlds we saw what the rest of the Mane Six were up to, we never saw any other destinies for Twilight. Probably because true timeline Twilight cancelled out any alternate Twilights, but figures that a crazy Twilight without Celestia's influence would end up really destroying Equestria.

I had a theory on one possible cause for the Ashlands timeline.
When Cerberus escaped from Tartarus, Twilight wasn't there to lead him back to guard the gates. All the ancient evil monsters escaped and ravaged Equestria.
Damn son, I was thinking about this as well, only to find somebody beat me to the punch already and by more than a week. Well, I suppose I'll still have to write my own anyways, but still.
I suppose Twilight was more right than she knew when she said her and her friends were important to the future of Equestria. If they weren't friends, Twilight was liable to go and wreck it on her own
