And since alternate universes are being played off as a theory by both ends, so by a technicality Excalibur isn't from an alternate universe. The Origin System and the Equestria solar system are in the same universe

It's why no one had mapped Equis, because no one had left the solar system and found anything.

In actual Warframe Lore though, the Orokin send drones out which became the Sentients, they must of found something. After all, you don't get the name Hunhow, Sentient Destroyer of Worlds for nothing.

7425859 I am unfamiliar about the Orokin sending drones out to map the solar system. I've read all the lore and done what i can and all I've been able to conclude is that the Sentients are aliens from a far away solar system. If I'm wrong I'd like a link please.

The drones became the Sentients much much later. I'll need to read the file again.

The Sentients are a race of machines, coming from the Tau System that were the chief enemies of the Orokin during the Old War. Originally suspected to be a truly alien race (whereas the Orokin, Grineer, Corpus and Tenno all seem to be human or post-human variations originating from Earth), memory imprints revealed by Cephalon Simaris seem to indicate they were originally created as terraforming drones bound for the Tau System. As their name suggests, they inadvertently gained Sentience, which coupled with their own innate abilities made them a dangerous threat to the Orokin Empire.

Read the Detron Crewman synthesis file. That tells you the Sentients conception as terraforming drones. They really tempt fate in that file too.
