Chapter 6: Should we tell her or not?

Scootaloo kissed her on the cheek and ruffled her mane. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna leave you. I promise." She said as they both walked inside
Later that night
The 2 fillies were tucked up in bed. "I'm so glad Rarity said you could stay again Scoots." Sweetie Belle nuzzled her
"I'm surprised Dash said yes." Scootaloo said as she nuzzled back
Earlier that day
"Can Scoots stay again tonight sis?" Sweetie Belle asked
Rarity nodded her head. "Of course she can!"
"Thanks, Rarity." Scootaloo said
"Has Rainbow Dash said you could stay over Scootaloo?" Rarity asked quickly
"We haven't been over there yet, we came to you since we were on our way back from crusading." Scootaloo remarked
Rarity nodded in understanding. "Well, you can stay as long as she says that it's alright."
Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle had large grins on their faces. They both walked out the door. "We'll be back soon!" Sweetie Belle called to her sister
The 2 fillyfriends started their walk to Dash's house. "You sure she'll be in?" Sweetie asked
Scootaloo nodded her head. "She should be unless she forgot to tell me that she was going somewhere."
They both chuckled at that.
After about 10 minutes of walking, Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle were looking up at Dash's cloud mansion.
"DASH!" Scootaloo shouted
At first, nothing happened. However, a few minutes later, some crashing was heard from inside the mansion and then Rainbow Dash appeared, looking down at the 2 fillies.
"Oh, hey Scoots, hey Sweetie Belle." Dash said
"Can Scootaloo stay round again tonight?" Sweetie asked
Rainbow thought about it for a minute. "Are you having a Cutie Mark Crusader sleepover or just you two again?" She winked at them, having no idea that they were actually dating
Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle both blushed. "Just us again..." Scootaloo trailed off
Rainbow Dash chuckled softly. "I'm only teasing! But yeah, you can stay over again Scoots, just don't stay up too late and make sure you get back here by lunchtime!" She said sternly
Scootaloo fluttered her little wings in excitement. "Thanks, sis! I'll be good and be back here on time! I promise!"
Dash nodded. "Good. Anyway, see you tomorrow Scoots. Later Sweetie Belle!" She said before she flew back into her cloud mansion
The two fillyfriends then walked back to the Carousel Boutique to let Rarity know that Scootaloo was able to stay over.
Once they both got back to the Carousel Boutique, they went to talk to Rarity. "Rarity!" Sweetie Belle called out to her sister
Rarity entered the room and smiled at the two fillies. "What is it, Sweetie Belle? Did you and Scootaloo go and ask Rainbow Dash if it was okay for her to stay over again?"
They both nodded. "Dash says that I'm allowed to stay over again." Scootaloo replied
Rarity smiled. "Good! I just wanted to make sure that she knew where you were, just in case something was to happen to any of us."
The 2 fillies nodded. "Anyway, me and Scoots are gonna go upstairs and play." Sweetie Belle said
Rarity nodded and went back to work.
They both ran upstairs into Sweetie's room.
Over the next few hours, they played games, talked about ideas for their next CMC meeting with Apple Bloom, they had food when they were hungry and just spent time with each other and that's the part that they enjoyed the most.

Scootaloo wrapped her forelegs around Sweetie Belle, pulling her close to her chest. "I'm glad she said yes..." She trailed off
Sweetie Belle turned around in Scootaloo's hooves so that the two were facing each other. "Me too..." She replied, trailing off as well
They then shared a small kiss. It wasn't a very long one, just a few seconds but to them, it felt like hours. It meant everything to them. They pulled away, smiling at each other.
"Scootaloo?" Sweetie Belle inquired
"Yeah Sweets?" Scootaloo responded, nuzzling her mane softly
"How are we gonna tell them all? Who do we tell first? When do we tell them all?" Sweetie asked, a little worried about it
Scootaloo didn't reply straight away, she thought about it first. "Well, the answer to your first question: We just be honest and just say it. The answer to your second question: Maybe Rarity first? The answer to your third question: In the morning if we're gonna tell Rarity first."
Sweetie Belle didn't say anything. "Can I tell Rarity that I'm dating one of my best friends? She has always told me to find a colt and have fillies when I'm older, same with mom and dad but... That isn't what I want. All I want is Scootaloo. No colt and no other filly, just Scootaloo... I just... I hope she understands that... I hope mom and dad understand too, whenever we decide to tell them that is..."
Sweetie Belle snapped out of her thoughts when she felt Scootaloo nuzzling her neck. She giggled. "You okay Sweetie?" Scootaloo asked, worry present in her voice
"Might as well tell the truth... I couldn't lie to Scootaloo anyway..." She shook her head. She wasn't okay. "No... No, I'm not okay Scoots..." She answered, looking down as her ears flattened against her head
"What's wrong?"
Sweetie Belle sighed shakily as he eyes brimmed with tears, although Scootaloo couldn't see them. "It would make sense to tell Rarity first but... I'm scared..."
Scootaloo's ears also flattened against her own head. "Sweets..."
Sweetie looked up at Scootaloo and she could see the tears falling from her eyes. She was terrified.
"What if she doesn't accept us? What if she starts getting mad and starts saying bad things because we're together? What if she tries to split us up? What if~"
She was silenced by a hoof to her lips. Sweetie looked at the one she loved and she knew that maybe, just maybe she was taking it a little too far...?
"Sweetie... Relax okay? The way I see it is this: If Rarity can't accept the fact that her own sister is a dating one of her best friends and that you are happy with who you have chosen to be with, then she has no other say... If she doesn't accept it, you can move in with me and Rainbow Dash because I know that if you don't, she will harass you and try to make you change your mind because to her, it's wrong... Just because she may think it is, doesn't give her the right to force you to believe it too and if she tries that, we will get your stuff and leave because I'm not having that happen to you Sweets. I won't stand there and have my fillyfriends' own sister give her grief for her own life choice!" Scootaloo had tears in her eyes. "I won't... I'll be with you every step of the way."
Sweetie Belle relaxed and wiped Scootaloo's tears away with her hoof. "I know Scoots... Let's get some rest..." She kissed her fillyfriend on the cheek before she fell asleep
Scootaloo nodded, curling up next to Sweetie as she fell asleep too, just hoping that tomorrow went as well as she hoped it would.
Next morning
The next morning was something that neither of the two fillies wanted but on the other hand, they knew it was gonna happen. Hesitantly, they got out of bed and got ready for the day that they were gonna face.
After walking downstairs, they were greeted by no one. As usual, Rarity was making another dress. They got their own breakfast and thought things over before they decided that it was time.
They were sitting on the couch after eating breakfast and they both sighed deeply. This was going to be very difficult for them.
"Rarity!" Sweetie Belle called out to her older sister
A few moments passed until Rarity walked into the living room, wondering why her name had been called. "What is it, Sweetie Belle?" She asked
Sweetie gulped. "U-Um... Me and Scootaloo need to tell you something if you're not busy..."
Rarity sat on the couch opposite and observed the two fillies before her. They looked like they had a rough night and that something had been bugging them.
"What did you two want to talk to me about girls?" Rarity asked
Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo both took deep breaths. "This is it..." Sweetie Belle thought to herself. "Me and Scootaloo are in a relationship..." She trailed off, leaving it at that just to let it sink in
Nothing happened at first. Rarity's expression remained the same. Sweetie Belle held her breath, waiting to find out what Rarity was going to say or do. Rarity opened her mouth and decided to speak. "You two are dating?!" She screeched
The fillies flinched at Rarity's tone but nodded nonetheless.
Rarity was twitching slightly. "How long?" She asked bitterly
Sweetie Belle looked to Scootaloo for support. "We've only been dating for a few days." Scootaloo said
That seemed to calm Rarity down but only for a mere second. "You know what mom and dad told you when you were a little younger Sweetie?" She inquired
Sweetie Belle nodded. "Yeah, I do. Why?"
Rarity only glared at her. "They told you to find a colt! They said you need to foals when you reach that age and dating Scootaloo is not going to help at all! I don't agree with this and I doubt mom and dad would either!" The more she shouted, the louder her voice got
Scootaloo wasn't liking this at all. "Rarity, I'm gonna be honest and straight to the point okay? I don't like the way you are acting at all! This isn't how Sweetie's own sister should be reacting to her coming out about her new relationship! I don't care what you think about me dating your sister because, to be honest, it's not your decision to make and you can't stop us from seeing each other! Me and Sweetie Belle are happy together and if you can't accept it, then she can come and live with me and Rainbow Dash!" She panted from her little outburst.
Sweetie Belle wasn't taking it very well either. "Sis... I can't believe you! I know mom and dad are old fashioned and say that only Mares and Stallions or Fillies and Colts should be together but I don't care about what they told me! It's my life, not theirs... I'm not their 'little filly' anymore and I wanna try new things! I'm also not your 'little sister' anymore! You can't control who I can and can't date! I'm also really angry at the fact that I can't even come to my own sister about my new relationship! Mom and dad must have filled your head with absolute nonsense because I know that this town does not care about that, actually, most of Equestria doesn't care about it, including the Princesses because they believe ponies should be able to express themselves for who they really are!"
Rarity just sat there in shock at what she had just heard. "If that is how you both truly feel then I want no part of it... You can both take what Scootaloo said about moving in with Rainbow Dash and follow it because I will NOT have a fillyfooler living under my roof!"
The two fillies didn't say anything after that. They only ran upstairs to get Sweetie Belle's stuff.

Sweetie Belle had grabbed everything that she wanted to take with her. They then left the Carousel Boutique and they started their walk to go and see if Rainbow Dash would allow Sweetie Belle to live with her and Scootaloo.
"Rainbow Dash will say yes Sweetie, don't worry..." She whispered
Sweetie Belle only nodded. "But then we'll need to tell Rainbow what happened cuz she will get curious so we'll have to spill the beans to her too."
Scootaloo giggled. "I'm not worried about that. She was happy for me when I told her that I liked fillies so it shouldn't be a problem."
Sweetie Belle chuckled. "When we tell her about what Rarity said, she won't be happy..."
Scootaloo raised an eyebrow. "At us or Rarity?"
"Rarity of course. No doubt after we tell her everything, she'll go over there and have words about it."
"Yeah, that's true."
The two stopped and shared a little kiss and intertwined their tails together before they continued their walk to Dash's cloud mansion, knowing that once they get there, everything will be okay.

Oh dear Luna not this again
... I always find it weird and questionable when people write Rarity or, well, any of the Mane Six like this, I'm going to give you the benefit of a doubt and hope she comes around eventually and this is at least better than the last time I read a fic that did that.

8089707 I've read it and that won't happen. Firstly, this is because Apple Bloom already knows about Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo and is happy that they have found each other:

In chapter 4: An unexpected colt, this is where we begin to see that some ponies won't agree with 2 fillies or 2 stallions being together and these ponies may be stallion or mare, colt or fillies but its just how it is:
I decided to add this in just to put into perspective that some won't agree with it. As far as I know, we won't be seeing Button Mash try to break them up as I don't want that. So, he basically made that as an empty threat as we won't be seeing it happen. I don't plan for him to make a return into the story at all.
And now, we come to the most recent chapter I uploaded. This is not anything against Rarity at all but I have added in the fact that some people won't agree with their life choice to try and make it realistic. That includes family members and their views on the whole idea of the subject in general.
This is the first part of the chapter 6: Should we tell her or not? that I think might need explaining or maybe not but some people will want explanations - not saying you do, just in general.
I can relate to this. I decided to add this bit in because in every relationship (same sex or not) I feel that they should both be there for each other and help them when they need it, regardless of the time, situation or whatever. At this time in the story, Sweetie Belle needed the comfort of Scootaloo because she was worried about telling her sister about their relationship which I can understand completely.
Next part:
I can also relate to this part. I won't go into it but from the stories perspective and from how I intended it to be, Sweetie Belle's parents had told her and Rarity they want grand foals (not sure if that's how its spelt) and for that to happen, they both need to obviously get with a stallion. Now, Sweetie Belle doesn't care about that, as we can see because she is dating a filly. Rarity, on the other hand, doesn't seem to care about her sister's relationship now because she is referencing what their mom and dad told them and she is the one who is going to stick by it.
I would have gone deeper into that but I didn't want to drag the story along with them arguing about it. That might be a chapter in the future.
3rd and final part:
I'll be honest, I wasn't sure how this would work out. After reading back on it, it was a pretty good idea for me to give the decision to move Sweetie out of the Carousel Boutique for obvious reasons and it helped that Scootaloo had said she could stay with her and Rainbow Dash.
Scootaloo stuck up for her fillyfriend and that is something that couples in real life can relate to. She didn't like her tone or the way that she was acting to the news becuase it is something that some won't take very well straight away and if I'm honest, I can see Rarity as one of the pnoes that would try to split the two of them up now just becuase they have come out about it.
Sweetie Belle, just like Scootaloo, wasn't taking it well either and with what she said, she had valid reasons to say that becuase she is getting older and she will want to try new things and experiement and she how she feels and its upto Rarity and her parents to understand her reasoning behond it and only they can make the decision about accepting it or not. I think the fact that she brought the Princesses into the conversation kind of summed up the argument: If the leaders don't care about who their citizens date or what their beliefs are, nothing much can be done about it.
Finally, Rarity's little statement at the end of that was something that I really wasn't sure about. I didn't know if I wanted to add it or not but in the end, I decided to keep it in. That statement wasn't what they expected and now she'll have to pay thr price for saying what she did becuase to the majority of ponies (and people), what she did was beyond wrong and they won't tolerate it, as we will see in future chapters.
Where will this lead?
Well as far as I know, from my ideas, Rarity is going to be (hopefully) be the only one to not like the idea but all I can say is that I will try to keep it like that, it just depends on what road I take it down but if I do decide to have another pony or ponies disagree, then I have my eyes set on who that will be.
The most recent chapter and the next few ones I have planned will be hitting home for me as this will tie into real events that have happened for me and like I said, I wanna keep it realistic in some form but obviously not too much.
My conclusion
Now I have read stories like that too (not all of them centered around Sweetie Belle but they all had the same idea), only a few and I do see where you are coming from. The way you explain your reasons for how you feel is understandable and I completely agree but at the end of the day, we can't please everyone. I just hope this won't start anything, I'm just trying to shed some light on my story and hopefully it clears a few things up.
I'm probably talking a load of nonsense though which is highly likely.
