With Equus on the cusp of a golden age where nearly every need is met, many of the world's inhabitants are looking to the stars and the vast universe beyond it, with Zoe among them, choosing to follow in her father's hoofsteps.

I'm actually not following the STO timeline, while I am incorporating things introduced in STO, like Admiral Quinn and the Venture Galaxy-Class variant, I'm following the timeline set forth in the Star Trek novels (which I've now bypassed timeline wise, making this story an Alternate universe from the Books as well), which is drastically different.
The Undine/8472, Iconians etc. will not be appearing. To be honest, I found the Iconian/Undine story arc (the later Delta Rising/Iconian War stories) to be lackluster.

I'll be expanding on it greatly in the next chapter, but I will tell you this, I have explicitly said in the final chapter of the last story that the Relationship between Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash is an extremely close one, with Fluttershy being an orphan living in the Cloudsdale Orphanage and her spending a lot of time with Dash's family. As such, Dash would have been a constant presence and influence in Zoe's upbringing, as Rainbow Dash, along with the other Mane6, being surrogate aunts since Fluttershy doesn't have an extended family on her side.
As for her uniform, it would have been similar to the Wonderbolt's non-performance uniform.

While I can understand the most likely why, as in going to war over the assassination of an Avatar of Harmony* would have enough of Celestia's rage in it, in all ponies, to be a near or total Extinction event for the Griffs, it does beg the question of what Celestia WILL be doing behind the scenes for payback? She can afford to take the long road to revenge, after all.
It also brings a more immediate problem of one of the primary defenses of Equestria being down until a new Bearer or Avatar is found...
*Since it was glossed over in a quick Starfleet Kangaroo Court covering The Hero's involvement against Tirek and "the Greys", I can only assume The Mane 6 still managed to graduate from Bearing the Elements to BECOMING living Elements of Harmony; I.E. Avatars of the Elements.
