That was a nice story, but the final chapter seems unnecessary. I thought the end of the second chapter wrapped it up nicely.

Keep in mind that it doesn't say much about the cones. They could be two-scoop Vanilla cones.
Also, in the U.S., where the banks vetoed the introduction of $1 coins by refusing to handle them, "an assortment of bills and coins" could easily be something like "$1.06 per cone" (two $1 bills, two nickels, and two pennies... an assortment).
