Anyway, thanks to everyone that liked and commented on this story! I'm working on the second chapter, and have several other side projects at the same time.
It makes sense that Sunset, as a transformed unicorn... or possibly an alicorn now... would have one of the largest magical signatures, if not the largest magical signature on the largely magic-free human world. Twilight is probably going to have to set her device to ignore Sunset and the portal if it's going to be any use.
The interaction with Sugarcoat was interesting. I figure it is only a matter of time that the Law of the Broken Clock is invoked and Cinch stumbles across some form of magic by accident. After that, the slippery slope to another conflict of some kind. It is unlikely to be anything to do with the Magic of Friendship. The Elements of Harmony are foreign to the Crystal Prep mindset. So, it is more likely to be Sombra's Dark Magic, based on fear, greed and rage.

Actually, I've never been quite sure as to why people think Sunset is an Alicorn now. I'm not adverse to the thought, but I'm not sure why. If you could help explain it, that'd be great.

It's just the physical features of the 'angel' form at the end of Friendship Games - Wings and horn.
Additionally, Sunset Shimmer passed two tests: Firstly, she became fluent in Friendship at the end of Rainbow Rocks to the point where she could manifest an as-of-yet-unspecified Seventh Element. Then, in Friendship Games, she created new magic by showing she understood and could control Twilight Sparkle's Device.
If you want me to be honest, I don't think that she has ascended yet, at least in canon. However, a fan-writer could make the case quite fluently given her achievements in the most recent films and shorts.

It might be since Suset's actions at the end of Friendship Games seem like ascension-level stuff. By this I mean her use of magic and transformation while being human could be a new branch of harmony magic for all we know. At least that's what I think, you're free to interpret it anyway you like

Well, to explain slightly, it wasn't so much as them kissing in the story, as so much as Rainbow Dash making them kiss. It's the same as if a friend made you and someone else kiss for their own amusement.
