Twilight’s friends on both sides of the portal mirror like to sing. So Twilight and Sunset Shimmer set up the first interdimensional concert and sing-a-long so everyone can get to know each other better.

What hidden truths will be revealed when everyone starts to sing? How will it affect their friendships and their futures? Do Twilight and Sunset have a hidden agenda?

This takes place sometime between Rainbow Rocks and Friendship Games. The girls at CHS have not yet met their world’s Twilight.

Based on songs from MLP:FIM seasons 1-4, Equestria Girls, and Rainbow Rocks. Includes links to all songs.

All songs and characters copyright Hasbro.

this was outstanding bravo to you for this fun story and excellent writing!!! can not wait for more. you really did your self proud with this concept and story!! bravo and well done!

This sounds good so far. I'd love to see where this is going.

That was definitely a very interesting chapter.

Thank you to everyone for the kind words. I am glad people enjoyed Truth In Song. It was an interesting creative experience; I could hear the songs in my head as I wrote.

And also, five fluttershys out of five fluttercords!

Loved the idea, very good work.
Also:

“Since we’re doing rainbow songs,” said Twilight, “here’s one we sang after a particularly tough adventure.”
“You mean after a terrifying battle with the fate of all of Equestria on the line?” Applejack smiled.
“She means it was Tuesday.” Rainbow Dash grinned from ear to ear.

:rainbowlaugh: Ain't that the truth! :pinkiehappy:

“You turned their world around, Twilight.” Rarity looked directly at her friend. “It's what leaders do. From what you told us, before you came they were friendless during an important part of their adolescence. We all remember how vulnerable we were at that time of our lives.
“Then, you swept in from nowhere, restored their friendships, led them to a stunning victory, then challenged them to uphold their highest ideals by reforming their former tormentor.

Hadn't really stopped to think things in that light but that certainly fits. :ajsmug:

...dang. Re-watching the 'fight' scene gave me actual chills.

Loving this story and in so glad I tracked it. Didn't realize 2 new chapters would be out so soon since I ran across it a few hours ago.

This was such a fantastic story. How did you come up with it? It seems so obvious now but I wouldn't have thought of it. Very well written and I clicked all the links to hear them on Youtube. Love the song My past is not today. Soooooo powerful.

Thank you for the kind words. I got the idea for the story while listening to the Equestria Girls soundtracks on YouTube. I wondered what each group of Twilight's friends would think of the other's singing.

While coming up with this, I also had an idea for a second song-fic, which became. Red Carpet. The question I started with for that story was, what if the girls sang "This Is Our Big Night" and where it says "Six friends on the way up now..." and the six didn't include Twilight. And how do you make that not a bad thing.

Actually, Welcome to the Show was sung by the Sirens, I think the one sung by the rainbooms was Music in you or something

7075701 The video I linked to includes both the Sirens' song and the Rainboom's reply. The link starts the video at the Rainbooms' song.

7426166 Thank you. While I know the story has some flaws, it was the first fan fic I ever posted, and it has a special place in my heart.

I like the idea of chronicling their disparate lives through song. It's imaginative and well-done.

Probably my favorite song out of the ones you showed is "My Past Is Not Today" -- I remember being blown away by the short when it was first released. I love it because it's about redemption.

8089201 Agree about "My Past Is Not Today". That's one of the things that turned me into a fan of Sunset.
