I'm loving this so far! It's cute, albeit very anime-esqe, but still cute!
I'm working towards writing more about musicians in my stories. It really helps that I'm in Music Appreciation, I'm more inspired than ever before because of it.
6567624 Well this comment made me feel like a million dollars, I'm glad I could inspire you to go write something of your own. I also find it interesting you find this anime-esque since I haven't watched very many anime romances. Mostly being that they usually follow the same plot over and over again.
As for music appreciation, I've played the trombone in my high school band, and currently play my violin from time to time. Kinda why I decided on Mark playing the violin, because I know about it more than most instruments.
6567719 I love all stringed instruments! I play the Guitar and Bass, and someday I'd love to start learning cello. I'm not much for brass instruments, I much prefer the winds. Though, I'm guilty of listening to swing from time to time and wouldn't change those brass horns for anything!
6567940 The instrument I want to learn at the moment would be the Piano, being that it's the most refined instrument of them all.
That is by far the best music to dance to!
6567959 Piano is great fun! I started out on the piano and am more and more convinced to return to finish learning it.
Honestly though, the one thing I wish I could do is write melodies and full songs. I'd do whatever it takes to be able to write my own music.
6568337 Just like any other hobby/profession, the more you practice the more your skill increases. The most important thing to have for an artist of any kind is to have persistence, and to try to b better than you were the day before. That way you get the most out of your hard work.
I would also love to write my own music as well, since it would be a extension of myself.

6568898 Oh definitely, there is so much focus on pairing human O.C.s with the mane six that it's great to see mares like Vinyl, Octavia, Lyra, and Bon Bon. It's a great change of pace and makes for a greater variety of stories.
Also if you keep going like this you're gonna have to add a comedy tag because it's really funny in places too.
6568942 I think I only ever saw Octavia in one other fiction like this, which is why I decided to write about her. She is one of the best background ponies if you ask me; she needs more love. It's always Vinyl stealing her spotlight.
As for the comedy tag, I might just have to do that by the next chapter. I went into this thinking about telling a more down to earth slice of life story, but as Ravvij pointed out. I came off as sort of anime-esque, which in turn makes this more of a comedy romance.
6569159 I know of at least two others, The Third Roommate, and No Magic Required. I wouldn't say that Vinyl is stealing the spotlight though, she is pretty much just as rare that I can speak of.
