Oh, darn, *sigh*. I wanted to hate this after that "puppy-monkey-baby" promotion of yours. I really wanted to hate it. I love it. This is character creation of the first order. How you handle 'story' and 'plot' will remain unanswered until we have more chapters, but for now your character creation is more than enough (that sucking noise you hear in the back of your head? That's me being drawn in).
Clearly you know what you are doing. Do you do contract work as a promoter? I have some stories that could use some more views.

Okay short nitpick. Why counterfit bits? I mean aren't they made of metal and look the same? Sorry just had to say that. I rather enjoyed this chapter and Doublemint is a great character. I also love the interaction between the two characters. It feels natural and had perfect pacing. (Also why is it that I can analyze stories and critique them but I can't write them?

As someone who kinda-sorta, unofficially has a Parasprite OC, I am excited for this story.
You have a good beginning so far. Introduced parasprite, and your other main character in an excellent manner that displays a few of their more (what I'm assuming to be at least) outstanding characteristics, and provided a bit of a taste of how we can expect your mysteries to play out.
Just for the sake of the Parasprite OC, I really hope this turns out to be a success.
