Domination of Equestria - T-359 days.
“Tell me Mr President, I’ve been wondering something since I arrived.”
“Please Mr Oxtail, speak your mind.”
“Well, while I’ve found your tour of your head office here very insightful, I can’t help but notice some of your..aesthetic choices.”
“Such as what?”
“Well take this hallway for example. There isn’t a single thing in it. Not a picture frame, plant pot, water cooler to be seen.”
“That is very true.”
“Well, one corridor like this is one thing, but so far they’ve all been like this. Doesn’t that make the place feel a little...stark?”
“Mr Oxtail, I don’t know how you do things over at Oxen Logistics and Management, but here we pride ourselves on being...uncluttered. It’s one of our driving principles to make our spaces as well as ourselves free of obstacles.”
“That’s an interesting philosophy.”
“Indeed. You see Mr Oxtail, things hide behind obstacles, and when things hide they become more difficult to deal with and excise. So I always endeavor to have as few hiding spaces as possible.”
“We still talking metaphorically here?”
“Here we are at the meeting room now. Why don’t we continue our negotiations on that buyout in some comfort?”
Overlord Rule No: 62 I will design fortress hallways with no alcoves or protruding structural supports which intruders could use for cover in a firefight.
That should be Here

Shhhhhhh!
What's interesting is I actually know the reason such alcoves exist in hallways like that. It's so the defenders have places for cover when under attack. The best thing to do is design them so the cover only works one way.
Hmm, that one has it's ups and downs. Given heroes always seem to be at the right place at the right time however, it does seem more logical to give them no place at all.
Nothing personal, but you could have at least left the water coolers, they don't stop bullets very well and can be very useful for dispatching your enemies.

True and if you shoot the water out you can cause an area hazard. Water is slippery.
7550226 Yes, not having cover for your own troops is...troublesome in CQC.

An area hazard caused by the heroes to trip the minions, yes.
Remember, this is based on tropes. So the heroes will probably throw the water cooler down to the floor in the middle of a chase scene, causing the leading grunt to trip and fall, making a domino effect onto the rest of the grunts.
I mean, sounding stupid or not it will probably happen. So best not temp fate.

He has reserves, the heroes don't. Might as well capitalize on that advantage as much as possible.

murder holes? Why fight fair when you can shoot them from angles they wouldn't consider?

No to mention the changeling troops can either carry riot shields or use magical barriers to protect themselves.
Nothing beats like the old shield and shotgun tactic!

reminds me of a line in a Diskworld novel:
"the bard's still in shock. i guess he wasn't expecting flames to unexpectedly shoot out of the floor like that."
